I think the cameo was very unnecessary. I thought she would've had a Justin Bieber sized cameo, not a 20 second gimmick appearance.

The weird thing with Katy I find is, a lot of the time, she is on key, yet somehow it all sounds AWFUL anyway

...her technique in general is very poor. Her natural talent + experience alone blesses us with some godly moments occasionally but it's obvious she's untrained.
Also, most of her songs are hard enough that they require a lot of focus on the vocals, but she loses focus when she has to do choreo and remember stage cues and what not. So her breathing gets raggedy and her articulation sucks
