Well that's not what I'm arguing (maybe someone else is) but if you really want to get into it, "rape culture" as such is a feminist construct that doesn't really exist in the way they claim it does. There's a culture of sexual objectification and entitlement towards women, but rape is not normalized or accepted in any Western society (now if you want to look at Islamic societies, that's different!).

The Hunting Ground's issues come from misrepresenting facts to further its agenda, like any piece of propaganda.

Agreed. Something similar to it exists, but "rape culture" is not the term for it, it carries the assumption that rape is normalized when it is absolutely not. Sometimes it feels like all logic and knowledge about how our society works gets thrown out the window when discussing certain topics.

And @ezra 1 in 15 and 1 in 130 is a MASSIVE difference They depend on people believing the former to keep pushing their policies in North America, which they are getting incredibly efficient at. And there's a reason why it only happens at the university level, because it would never hold water in an actual court, which requires real evidence and statistics.

If Gaga chooses to support a film like that, she deserves to get dragged for it!
