That's because he ****ed with them WAY more at the point when that happened. Rihanna was ALREADY catering mostly to whites the mainstream/dancepop crowd moreso than the Urban crowd at that point. Chris was visiting 106&Park like every 2 months, etc. Obviously they were going to side with the bigger person in their community.
Like if something happened between Lil Wayne and Katy Perry obviously BET/black people are moreso going to lean toward Lil Wayne
Katy Perry though?
And Rih was going to their shows every year till then without fail, she did promo slots on their network. They could have been neutral but always ended up being messy when it came to Rih.
It's called growing up, but I agree that she does act differently for the camera. I'm sure she has fun with her circle of friends, but that's no different than having to smile and act like a ray of sunshine at work.
I must be the opposite of people, because I swear I liked her more in the early DC days when everyone hated her. She was real back then.
Beyonce is not even that shy. She used to speak very candidly in her DC days and would hush Kelly or Michelle up to tell a story. She was very hood, very bratty and conceited, very goofy, but very real. Those eyeroll gifs was the real Beyonce back then. Her drawl was heavy, and her posture was loose. Someone finessed her up and made her transform into this demure, humble, sweet lady and scared her into becoming a mute. Beyonce is nervous in interviews because she isnt being herself.
As if Pop bitches don't use rappers on their songs for crossover appeal.
Girl.
So does Beyoncé, sorry I don't follow?
Rihanna has transformed many times in her career, much more so than Bey.
That's what happens when you organically become a megastar from Barbados.
Who are you referring to? Because anybody with sense knows that all kind of women wears makeup and weaves and wigs.
She went to the BET Awards the first three times she could. 06, 07 and 08. 09 she's wasn't attending anything, 2010 she was on tour, 2011 she went...to an after party, 2013 she was on tour. That being said I don't think Rihanna would be opposed to doing a black magazine cover. I really don't think she's been asked, TBH.

She came out with songs that appealed to everyone, like she always has. She debuted with songs like Pon De Replay, Unfaithful, We Ride, etc. She's always been urban pop, so let's not act like she was out here doing flat out bubblegum pop like Katy and THEN switched up. Sis was constantly being referred to as an R&B singer. If anything, she went more pop to escape the Beyoncé comparisons.
When was the last time Rihanna wore an afro or box braids or any traditionallyn black hairstyle? Has she ever?
Now if the Hive was as petty as the Navy we would be accusing Rihanna of being ashamed of her race. Has she ever used any african influences in her music? Any african inspired clothing? Anything? Or is everything about her european even though she's from barbados?
Katy Perry though?

That's because Chris was a way bigger figure to their community than Rihanna. He had a way bigger Urban support system than Rihanna and supported them way more than she did prior to that incident. I don't understand what part of this you're failing to comprehend. After the first album or whatever, Rihana literally went pop and left the Urban community high and dry for the most part

But then again, which celebrity is not playing a role. Everyone with a certain status as a celeb is trained to succumb to a certain behaviour to fit the public image at some point in their career. Except for probably Madonna who has made a career out of being herself and not giving *****.
