I'm watching her Superbowl performance again, ugh she slayed.

Dark Horse gets me every single time, the whole stadium going dark.... then the huge bass drop, the lit up field and the effects, the chess players.... just flawless! I'm really looking forward to her interview with CBS and her behind the scenes. I remember watching this at a bar during beer bust... everyone had their eyes glued to the TV and when Dark Horse dropped... dear lord! She delivered punch after punch after punch... Dark Horse, the Lenny, bringing out Missy and finally that gorgeous Fireworks set.... slay Katy! I can't wait for her next era!

It's like she started this trend but everyone else milked It except for her I think that there's still space for Dark Horse kind of songs in the 2016 music industry. She should definitely record 2-3 of them and release 1-2 as singles.

The bass drop when DH started oh my The Roar-DH-IKAG punch was more than phenomenal.

Katy really punchedT with her halftime show. Bey fans are still in denial.
When you're given a huge stage + budget, you have to do something that people won't see everyday. People can see Bey dance and sing her ass off (and tbh she barely sang) any day. She didn't fully take advantage of the resources to put on something truly spectacular.

I'm a huge Beyonce fan and she did great, she didn't have a huge production like Katy and Madonna but she still punched, that huge intro, then Crazy In Love, Baby Boy and the crazy lighting, followed by DC and those huge alarms, then SL.... she slayed. End Of Time could have gotten the boot though. It would have been great to see her with all the gimmicks and what not but she still delivered.

I'm wondering how she would do it now that she has toured more and experimented more with other stage equipment. This was back in 2013, before ST and her huge tours.

Anyways back to Katy, any word on who she has worked with for the upcoming album?

The intro was meh, it wasn't really exciting but she had to perform Roar, I guess the big lion was the big delivery there. She could have ditched Roar as the intro and just have gone straight into DH and made that longer, she could have snuck Roar as some sort of transition that led up to Firework.

I think she could get away with having a few tracks with a similar vibe to Dark Horse... not necessarily even trap but something a little experimental, very bass heavy... that'd be neat. But going down the DH 2.0 route wouldn't work... even if it produced successful singles, that wouldn't matter because it shows she's not growing and just trying to rehash previous success (like Birthday tried to rehash TD, and it didn't work).

Just my opinion. If you like songs like Dark Horse, we already have that. Instead of more of the same I think it'd be nice to have something entirely different for Katy. Dark Horse was only Dark Horse because it was something Katy hadn't done before. Doing it again... it'd be missing the freshness the original had. Y'know?

Madonna's was cool, but after LMFAO came on stage it all went downhill, I always stop watching after that.

Madonna's SB starts and ends well, but everything in the middle is not up to par + awful guests bar MIA.

Bruno Mars was just a heap of nothing. I've tried numerous times now to watch it fully but I bail everytime because it's so uninteresting.

Beyonce did great with End of Time/Baby Boy, but apart from that...also a heap of nothing. She, just like Mars, treated it like a regular tour performance. Halo as the conclusion was an awful choice too.

Katy brought a spectacle from beginning to end, fully using the possibilties a half-time show offers and recruiting two great guest artists. She did by far the best job in recent years.

It kinda is tbh. Madonna's was iconic but the fact her worse ever single "Gimme All Your Luv" was the promoted single at the time and that horrendous LMFAO feature. uke: A damn mess.

I hated "Firework" her wobbling about on that unstable, tacky firework thing was just . Like cute idea and obviously there was constraints with the time, but a simple raised into the air would've sufficed.
