She said in Rolling Stone that it had a deeper meaning and that she ultimately changed it because people would not get it, but lbr there was no deeper meaning, she just wanted to do it for shock value. But if the shoot were to leak today, particularly, it would go down worse than in 2008 because of the hyper sensitivity of all the subjects having to do with race that settled in these last bunch of years

Yeah, but usually her shock value has some actual meaning behind it and HC as an album doesn't really have any meaning to it. Like a pointless shock title with a subpar album would have ruined her.

It isn't hypersensitivity for the most part though. Some people are being a little oversensitive but most of the reactions in recent years are completely justified imo.

And yeah, if it leaked it would be ripped to shreds, so I hope she has it under lock and key.

There is no way Black Madonna would have went down well. Especially if it sounded like Hard Candy. It would have ruined her (and honestly deservedly so if she was foolish enough to do that).

It isn't even about sensitivity or SJWs with that. Any idiot could see miles away () that that would be a racist and a downright stupid way to present the album. There are just so many things wrong with that concept.

Obviously she shouldn't have done black face or anything (there's that one pic we have that's just a photoshopped Hard Candy shoot pic - right?), but the biblical concept could've been could. Do we even know that there was a photo shoot?

The title "Black Madonna" could've been a nice controversial follow-up from the Confessions tour "Live to Tell" performance. Would've been weird with the sound of Hard Candy though. That title is literally one of her best - I love the concept, something hard and sweet, something tough but pretty etc. It's cool - and then the gym lines, "Hard Candy Fitness" - how flawless?

This is the single worst statement that has ever been made in the base. Madonna "stans" who hate her 80s stuff are literally the worst.

Not only is every single 80s song (yes even Jimmy Jimmy) better than Incredible, 80s Madonna is either the best or second best Madonna decade. Her debut and Like A Prayer are two of her best albums without question, Like a Virgin is incredibly underrated for her highest selling non-compilation album, and True Blue is great asides from JJ and LMTWGR.
