I don't know how this was made about race. I mean sure, Léopoldville was founded by the Belgians and that's how the disease itself spread, thanks to the routes between this city and other cities but like other people pointed out the virus came from some form of interaction with primates/chimpanzees, so Europeans or not, the disease would have come to exist anyway.

Colonialism there was so vile though, that is true. But regardless, sooner or later the disease would have spread, I think.

I've made a huge effort not to click on race-bait threads for the last 2 days, but I clicked an HIV thread and the first thing I see is a ''black'' member screaming that white people spread the disease, and that ALL WHITE people are evil. Yet the funny thing is that anyone that disagrees with that post is gonna be targeted as ''racist''.

This is the weird kinda **** I don't get. That you have to respond to this post - and act as if you're offended. Whenever in your life have you been persecuted, judged (in an derogatory way) or been held accountable as a result of simply the colour of your skin? Thing is, white people WANT black people to say things about them so then they can turn around and say even worse things back. Thing is racism against blacks is historically ingrained for all of time, and continues to this day and I'm sure well into the future. Don't try and take black peoples' struggle from them and demean it by making it a shared struggle, cause it's not.

And that's some tea from a white boy who gets it. Drink up.
