So Womanizer is cute, circus is great,
out from blunder is where things start to get scetchy.
The song is PERFECT for the era. Problem: Lifeless vocals. It sounds like a late night session/last song at the karoake night where a girl that thinks she has vocals wants to be "serious" thinking an agent might be in the audience (she's wasted by the way).
Then we
kill the mood which the first minute and a half she serves but then it just drags on.
Shattered glass is amazing.
IUSA is amazing and for me at least aged well
Unusual you is amazing
Blur is perfection. Deserved to be on blackout after Freakshow
mmm papi is quirky unique Britney
mannequin is ok. The original version slays
Lace and pleather remains bargain basement. Really the kesha track of the album.
My baby's halitosis...i'm not going to do Britney like that because she's talking about her little nuggets
Radar...i don't know how this song sounds worse on Circus except that it doesn't fit.
Rock me Gwen...it's cute and quirky. I love it's free spirit vibe.
Phonography...sassy and cute. Should have had more punch in the production and it would be flawless.
Trouble...love it
With only 4-5 songs that are not the tea, the problem with the circus album is not the quality.
Moreso, it's not a strong cohesive album.
there's a reason it's rarely referenced. I think it's a great summation of her strengths from her first 5 albums...but it's not cohesive so the flow is kind of off.
When I listen to the album in my car i never intend to listen to it in full just like BJ...I just go for the tracks that i LURVE.
All of her other albums I intend to listen to start from finish with at most 2 or 3 songs that I skip.
