And songwriting is fine, that's something you can explore and do on the side. Harry Styles has done it throughout the past 5 years. Releasing, filming a video and promoting/performing the song at a number of events/TV shows is different.....it's marketing and promoting yourself separately from the group to the same audience and industry, asking them to buy into you as a solo artist already. That is completely different from Normani's dancing videos.....that isn't being marketed to the music industry, it isn't being promoted and performed on national television and big radio events, and it isn't Normani marketing herself as a solo music artist.

Despite all of what you spout ,and all of what you actually believe, the reality is that these girls' foremost obligation is to the label, which is who they signed the contract with. NOT each other.
And the label has clearly decided to embrace this opportunity for Camila. If that makes the other girls jealous, that's their problem.

How are the Camilla stans nasty
Camila is in contract with her label. They were clearly into this, its obviously boosting the groups star power.

If her obligation is solely to her label, they should have no problem with her leaving the group and going solo as long as she still fulfills her contract. If the other four girls are so unsupportive and bitter, why doesn't she just call it quits and make everyone, including herself, happy?! Camila is apparently so far ahead of the other girls already, so surely starting a solo career right now wouldn't be a problem for her. The other four girls can just re-record Camila's parts on 5H2 and keep chugging along. Simple.

You'd think they'd thank her for trying to make the group relevant

But why, boo? That's the thing. She can clearly do both, easily. It's a smart move to stay and the girl is clearly smart so
At the end of the day, the 12 year old OT4 stans mad at this duet will still buy 5H2 and it will still smash and IKWYDLS being a hit will probably help a bit on radio and everything.

So which is it? Is she restraining herself by being in 5H or can she do both, "easily?" How can it possibly be a smart move to stay in a girl group when the other girls are apparently bitter, pressed, and jealous and Camila isn't allowed to express herself artistically? Camila apparently has the star power to make it on her own, so why doesn't she do it? Why continue to be held back by 5H?

I don't think there'd be an uproar if IKWYDLS was flopping

I haven't said once that she should go solo and I'm not one of those stans that are like: "CAMILA IS THE MOST POPULAR!!111 CANT YOU SEE IT? THEY'D BE NOWHERE WITHOUT HER!!11 SHES THE BEYONCE"... nope. I'm saying, she can explore songwriting if it's permitted by her label and she can stay in the group that gave her a name in the first place.
She's restraining the part of her that writes song, that likes acoustic music, that talks about love as a fairytale. That doesn't mean she's gonna abandon 5H. All of them are restraining in different ways. I'm sure this is not the type of music Lauren wants to make, so why does she stay? I'm sure Normani wants to go all out dancing with insane choreographies, so why does she stay? I'm sure Ally would love to talk about god and her faith so why does she stay? I'm sure Camila wants to talk about fairytales and write acoustic music... so why does she stay?
It's business, boo. They don't have to be best friends to sell.
Ever since my first post I've been talking about business. It's all a matter of business, labels, sales... Not petty jealously ********. And if the other girls are mad, it's on them.

But the difference is that the other girls are the only ones showing restraint. None of the other girls are acting on their wants and desires. The only one who has done so is Camila. If all the other girls showed the lack of restraint that Camila has, 5H would deteriorate. The other girls shouldn't be responsible for holding the group together while Camila is in the privileged position to do whatever she wants as a solo artist and only show up when she is needed. If all of the other girls had the same mentality that Camila had, they could have all been like "F**k it!" and all split by, leaving Camila with no band to return to, and where would that leave her? So, yeah, it's business to an extent, but we are also talking about human beings here. Just as Camila has the right to go out and do her own thing, so to do the other girls have the right to be mad about it when they are taking the high road and not doing solo projects in order to present a united front. You claim that it's all business, but Little Mix have proven that it makes more business sense to NOT do solo music projects and show the public a strong, united front as a girl group because they have attained much more success than 5H + solo Camila combined!

Of course not. There would be nothing to be jealous of.

Sounds good. At least we can agree that Britney is Queen.

So it was exactly what I said. Camilla fans think her special treatment is justified just because they think she is special. They think that because she's oh so talented and amazing, all these opportunities are just falling into her lap. Nah son, the difference between Camilla and the other girls is that she's actively pursuing for these solo opportunities. I'm sure the story about them meeting back stage and recording the song together on a whim is highly romantisized. There is a lot of politics in the industry for collabs, as if these d listers were giving that much autonomy to waste expenses

I don't know why everyone's mad, it's just a Shawn Mendes collab. Everyone who is mad about this project is acting like he's Justin Bieber or something

Because she's getting name recognition for this. She's on big talk shows, she's building her own brand while the other girls are still building 5H. He's not Justin Beiber but she's clearly getting a lot out of this. Don't play dumb.
