Aw! I love how much the cast has opened up to having gaga there--no bitterness at all. I'm glad she rejuvenated them--I'm sure they needed something new and interesting to spice things up

I can't believe it's almost over. It seems just like yesterday I was thirsting for it to finally premiere and looking for any tea I could find on here & twitter.
After really thinking about it, this season started out hugely promising, but kind of had a few stumbles - I didn't care about John Lowe's story at all; The Countess's backstory wasn't as interesting as I had hoped and I still feel like she hasn't been fully fleshed out in a satisfying way, nor do I suspect she will ever be (and no, I don't think it's Gaga's fault). To be clear, I don't think it's been ****, but with this cast, this beautiful set, this whole world that's been set up, it really could have been executed better.
My main caveat has been the lazy writing and characterization, and I feel the writers have done the actors a disservice here and there. My main hope for the next season is not that they get Jessica or Frances back, or score another big actor joining the cast, but get a great screenwriter with a good forethought when it comes to character development and with excellent storytelling skills. Get an ~auteur~ type or even dredge up a former writer from The Sopranos or Mad Men or someplace. This show does have some good writers in their arsenal, and I don't know what they're doing, but sometimes it doesn't feel like they communicate or even read each others scripts. It's like they each disappear into their own separate hideyholes and come out with wildly inconsistent characterzation or interpretations - like for example Tristan practically became a different character from Chutes and Ladders to Room 33 with no rhyme and no reason, just suddenly a changed person, fanfic-style.

Chapter 11 / Production #511 – “Battle Royale” (Airs January 6, 10:00pm e/p) – Ramona draws vitality from an unlikely source. Sally uses her past to negotiate her future. Scarlett learns the truth of her family’s affliction. Written by Ned Martel; directed by Michael Uppendahl.
she'll make a 20 second cameo maybe.
