What's the "contenders" section for? Is it just who the rankings predict to be potential winners?

Also I'm working on a case competition with a friend tomorrow, and we were originally going to meet at 12 which is why I said I'll probably miss tomorrow's challenge. But she just asked me if we could push the meeting to 2, so now I'm DEFINITELY not going to make it. Part of me really wanted to push it to tomorrow, but I would have had no excuse since I had said I was free just a few hours before, and I don't think "I want to participate in the challenge for the spoon game I'm playing on the pop music forum I frequent" would have gone over so well

Remember, the goal of this game is to be the fastest! There are multiple strategies to employ to make sure that you grab a spoon on the table.

I will post the auction at 3 PM EST. Bidding will last 10 minutes, and the challenge will begin at 3:15 PM EST, hopefully on the dot. REMEMBER, the time will change each round. I may be a few minutes late to post on occasion! Your goal is to complete these LIVE CHALLENGES as quickly as possible. Some challenges may involve games with a set goal, such as "You must beat this score to earn the first spoon." The first person to PM me the completed challenge each time will then receive a response from me, telling them to post the infamous word, "SPOON" in the thread.

Remember -- as soon as this person posts "SPOON," you must stop the challenge, and must grab a spoon to secure your spot in the next round. At least one person will be eliminated each round! I will likely have to employ a few double eliminations this season.

You have 24 HOURS to grab a spoon after the challenge is posted. If people go inactive, and there are multiple spoons remaining at the 24 hour mark, the person who grabbed the first spoon will vote off one of these remaining contestants. I'm hopeful that we don't have to do that, but that's how I am going to address it!

Finally, PLEASE do NOT troll the game by posting the first "SPOON" if you didn't receive a PM from me. If this happens, I may have to disqualify you from the contest, which I really don't want to do. We have had problems with this in the past. If it is done accidentally, we will work something out.

Ask questions now! The first challenge will be posted in about 11.5 hours!

A word on the 522 error:

Unfortunately, this error continues to plague ATRL this season. Given the live nature of this game, the 522 error could cause someone to be eliminated unfairly. Obviously, I understand that if you can not access the site during the challenge/spoon grabbing time, that is not your fault. I am a sympathetic person, and a bit of a pushover. However, I am going to assume that all of you have multiple devices on which you can access ATRL. Thus, if you receive the 522 error on one device, please try to access this thread on any device you can. If worst comes to worst, and you get eliminated due to 522, please take a screenshot of the 522 error WITH THE TIME STAMP SHOWING, and I will deal with it from there. This applies to any other of these connectivity issues with numbers. I do not imagine this will affect things for at least the first week. If it happens to you, please talk to me. I don't bite.

LOL yeah as someone who hates group projects, I don't think your friend would be thrilled with that explanation.
