ddddd it was mostly the Last Stand-level CGI for a lot of the special effects, but hopefully it's just because it's quite early into post-production.
Like the Storm flight was PS2 style realness. And the NYC destruction was Magneto taking down the Golden Gate bridge all over again, with the same 2006 effects. We had two great X-Men movies in this new trilogy (FC and DOFP), perhaps its the destiny of this franchise to blow it with the third entry every damn time
The movie and the villain are a risk IMO. Apocalypse is so hard to capture and get right... but they shocked me with the sentinels last time around so maybe this will work. If nothing else Singer is normally very good at keeping the movies grounded, dark and well-paced.
