Looks like for 2000+, albums that spent multiple years in the T5 of Soundscan's annual sales will be:
Fearless 1 & 3
1989 1 & 2
21 1 & 1
(And probably 25 1 & 1).
this is really cool, altho it's 2,5 year old, but as far as i've found so far, this is the last complete top 200 best selling albums in US in the soundscan era (march 1 1991). but the vast majority of these albums have barely sold more than 100k more since then. we know however that for example swift's fearless is at 7 million, and 1989 has come out, but for the most part, you can here follow the albums that "25" already have passed and is about to pass!
after only 5 weeks, 25 has already passed swift's best selling album fearless. look at all the huge albums it already have passed! and we also know now that 21 is at 11,5 million!
I miss when these lists would leak week after week.
1989 sold exactly 2M this year, total sales at 5.6M
