Hmm. To be fair on Selena, it wasn't that terrible. SOL and LYLALS were the worst. Her new music seems to suit her voice better like GFY (minus SOL which is obviously a SUCKER leftover). And there's nothing wrong with her having a weaker voice, not everyone needs to be a powerhouse, and she does have a pretty voice.

It's her breath control tbh. She has the lung capacity of a tiny little mouse and every time she doesn't get a deep enough breath she goes flat.

And they need to turn up her mic. Her mic is always SO low. wyd

Calm down I'm saying, she would not have a music career if she wasn't a Disney star/actress first, like she's barely even averagely talented in that department. There is nothing that makes her special as a musician.

Selena is a below average singer. Like, you could find people on the street that sing better than her. She's more often bad than she is even average...she is pretty close to tone deaf.

And no, that's not what I'm acting like at all. Usually artists that heavily use other writers have some other sort of musical talent to back it up. My fave, Kelly, records songs a lot that she doesn't write, but she's got an absolutely amazing voice that makes her special.

Selena might co-write some, but she's not some amazing songwriter. She'd be nothing without the other writers who do most of the work. An example of someone who isn't a great vocalist but has other talent to back it up is Taylor....she's an amazing songwriter and that's what makes her special.

What baffles me about Selena is....what makes her special? What musical talent does she have? There's really nothing that makes sets her apart or makes her special when it comes to music. I like her as a person, but it's people like her that I think give Pop music such a bad rap. People assume Pop artists are all studio magic, pretty faces and not truly talented.

Its perfectly in your right to not understand what makes her appealing to people. I find her to be great and I like her voice and I admit she has a couple of bad performances but completely dismissing her and writing her off as a bad name for pop music is downright antagonistic. You're basing her talent and overall accomplishments on one bad performance. She isn't tone deaf and she has worked hard for what she has accomplished. She isn't the best vocalist nor the best songwriter but a lot of artist aren't but that doesn't mean completely writing them off and bashing them is ok

No I'm not, I've seen a lot of performances and there are more bad ones than average ones.... and none have been close to impressive. And I'm saying this not as a hater, but someone who thinks she's a very likable person and talented actress/model. I really don't see anything that makes her special as a music artist, nothing she can do above average that most people can't.

She does produce her albums and wrote almost all of Revival.

But she's not some amazing songwriter that is talented enough on her own as a writer....every song she co-wrote has a handful of other professional writers with her. And she's not listed as a producer on any song on the album.
