Got it. As long as you don't mind me constantly sailing by your thread like the boat in the Starlight video. | That boat was moving very slowly, though, so you could say that it was less sailing and more...plodding.

Alright, first update a-coming. It took a little longer than I thought to put together. But thank you everybody for the positive feedback. I'm really excited to get around to all of yours
Let's not joke around about certain artists that are best neither sia-n nor heard though
For now, some replies:

I chose my graphics theme mostly because I can't my graphics to save my life. All I needed was a Sharpie, pieces of paper, and a scanner. Thank you to my fave for being populist enough to allow this.

/seems unlikely in a year full of Drake and Coldplay releases. But in my wildest dreams, Taylor is winning this. | I will say that one of my favorite artists tops one of the charts

Honestly, TRF. |
Thank you king
You nailed either one or all of them. They'll do better on the albums chart.

Well, you know me well.

Can't wait for this to start. I remember our relating to Bleachers and Basement Jaxx love from last year's. | I like to take my time. I definitely wasn't freaking out about not having put lists together or anything
Right though? That B love

102: Zara Larsson - Lush Life
I live my day as if it was the last
Live my day as if there was no past
Doin' it all nite, all summer
Doin' it the way I wanna

Kicking off my best of is this bright little ode to moving on after a crush. Was there a brighter chorus this year though? Maybe. But was there one delivered in a way that was as fun as Lush Life? Whistles swoop in an out like little birds, synths bounce around you, and Zara delivers her lines in a way that's completely unbothered by the end of her crush. Really, the song is as infectious as can be in both sound and overall positivity. Try not smiling while listening to this one. Can't be done, especially if you're watching the video. Thanks Sam for this one and thank you Superpower for turning me into a stan.

101: Big Grams (feat. Skrillex) - Drum Machine
Drum Machine has some of that classic Big Boi sound in there, sounding like a logical extension of Sir Lucious. But it also has a certain polish that a lot of Big Boi and Skrillex songs just don't have. Who cares about the write-up though? It's not that kind of song. It's a banger, just turn up the volume.

100: The Game (feat. Skrillex) - El Chappo
I guess I was feeling Skrillex and his work this year. Add Bangladesh, who always comes up with the craziest beats, and we're talking. Basically, the whole track is Game finding inspiration from drug kingpin El Chappo (obviously) and Kanye's I Am A God to make a Latin accented banger. Maybe it's the latin in me that's attracted to this song in particular, but it's incredible. The song is a huge mess, but in the best possible way. There's also a shout-out to Drake and Makonnen's Tuesday, some rapid fire verses in Spanish and probably could be used to launch a think piece on the changing demographics of Los Angeles ( f you are not bilingual / Get the **** up out of town, 'fore we run your ass down ) and of rap music, but that's only if you're thinking, and if you're doing that while listening to this one, you're doing it wrong

99: Jidenna (feat. Kendrick Lamar) - Classic Man
There's just something so cool about Classic Man to me. I haven't quite decided just what it is yet. I think it's that I love how the song takes one of the biggest modern hits in recent times, Fancy, and hijacks it to create an ode to being, well... a classic man. The context and music is modern, but the statement behind the song celebrates a certain sense of tradition. It's corny, but it knows it's corny, celebrates, and even flaunts it which makes it work. And work it does, he fires off all kinds of brags, but none really feel overly braggy; he also got away with an Iggy Azalea look-alike in the non-remix video, in some cool subtle shade. Jidenna does have a point when he says "you can be mean when you look this clean," I mean, who did Game go dressed as for Halloween?

98: Torche - Barrier Hammer
My list would be incomplete without some metal faves. While the genre doesn't do well with singles with me, the odd track does stand-out. Torche is a metal band from Miami and Barrier Hammer is a lurching monster of a song and a favorite from earlier in the year. This one is all about just letting all the overwhelming noise surround you and to get caught in the groove of the song. What makes Barrier Hammer stick out to me, is, just when the song starts to get repetitive and feel like it's droning, the whole song lets loose some pummeling energy and aggression. It's so satisfying when it hits, and a change of pace for Torche who normally do poppier material

96. Shake It Off
95. Do this and the rest will follow
94.

There is no NBT, so I don't care about them.
I have heard about that Zara girl, but she didn't impress me, so yeah.  |
