Hunties, I know you're all super duper stressed right now with apps and decisions. And it's good you're worried because it shows that you're conscientious students. But, in the chance that you don't get into your Top 10 US News school, or are deferred, or rejected or what not, just remember: You will live if you go to a different school. I was heartbroken when I found out I had to turn down a #4 school for a #50, but I've since come to realize that I'll be fine.
Look at PhD program candidates at places like UChicago, Yale, MIT, Harvard, etc. They aren't all from Ivy Leagues! Coming from a state school or smaller private school can give you an advantage in the sense that you're an outlier for those prestigious grad programs. And I know you've heard this before and are tired of it, but it's the student who makes the education, not the institution. If you want to be the top of your field, your success or failure depends on you, not the name on your degree.
More than that, being rejected is a good kind of humbling. Harvard doesn't want you now? Work your ass off and, in 4 years (or less!), show them they made a mistake. One decision made by a panel who has never met you is not going to determine the trajectory of your professional life. All of you will be just fine, remember that.

ASU was my safety and they just accept anyone with over a 2.5 and isn't a felon

Yeah, NYU really does offer terrible aid, but I'd love to live in New York City.
The reason why I keep applying to all the Ivy Leagues is that tuition there will be cheaper than any of the other schools (since my family makes less than 150,000 so it's 10% of your families income).

Wow that sucks . The worst I had was when I had one final from 3-6 PM on Monday and then two on Tuesday (one at 8 AM and the other at 3), so that's not nearly as bad as you at all, but good luck!

I go to a small state school, have a 3.9 GPA, Treasurer/Secretary positions in two important multicultural groups, a couple of internships, part time job, first generation college student. I'll have my final grades from my first year & midterm grades from my sophomore year. My problem is my low high school GPA (3.1) and mediocre SAT score.

They still look at your high schools grades? That's odd...

I'd have to pay for it myself, and I'm poor and cheap, so...

Sis, that definitely means you have a good shot at your other schools! if you weren't Ivy material, they would've rejected you. I didn't post the numbers to discourage you, I just don't want you to get your heart set on Harvard like I did with Northwestern thinking that I was almost guaranteed to get in. Keep your mind open to all of your other choices because they're all amazing options

Aw thanks so much! That was very sweet of you!
I really appreciate it though, no one else in my family really gives a damn about what I do because all they keep saying that I just want to get away from them (which is partially correct, just my father though). I do hope I get into Harvard or Stanford, but I'm happy if I get into any of the schools on my list to be honest. As long as the tuition is affordable, the education is great, and I can find happiness with learning and pursue my dreams, I'm set.
I've just been under pressure by everyone at school and my family to get into these high ranking schools because I've been doing the whole dual enrollment since I was 14 and I'm the only one who has ever done it so I have this goal I have to live up to and it's stressful as hell.

My family was kinda like that but they were just happy to see me go to college they were well aware that I hated my small town and wanted to get the **** out.
I get what you mean, I was pretty much the only person in my small school trying to go somewhere major, out of state, etc. There were only 3 people in my class of ~100, including me, using the Common App I was my guidance counselor's affliction the whole year because she was so excited for me.

The crazy thing is that they want me to stay here rather than go out and learn to live on my own. I mean I rant about how much I hate this town all the time, why can't they take the hint? They want me to apply to Notre Dame because it's so close (it's only 20 minutes away) and there's no way in hell I'm going to be that close to them. I need a good 5-8 hour distance.
Only 10 people in my grade are using it according to my counselor, but they are only using it to apply to the state schools. My counselor was shocked that I got deferred at Harvard and I was so confused. She said I'm the only one who has applied anywhere major as most kids prefer the small towns and being close to family. I'm just ready to get on my broomstick and fly the hell off to school where I can learn, do what I want for a career, and FINALLY meet guys and go on dates.

I'm so happy that in just a few hours, I will forever be finished with this Accounting course. I've already passed the course so I have some breathing room going into the final, but I'm still stressed out about it.

I don't know if I should drop my Chemistry class or not
I saw my advisor today and she called the dean's office and they thought I should have enough documentation to get a late drop. Like on one hand I'm pretty sure I don't want to do pre-med anymore and what I do do won't be Chemistry related at all, and it'll be a bad mark on my transcript (BC or B), and it might affect my chances transferring to a better college my junior year. But I already put in all this work and I guess I might change my mind about pre-med. It would sure be nice not having to take that final tho
I have a meeting in the dean's office tomorrow I'm hoping they'll let me keep this idea on the table until next semester. I don't even care what grade I get if I do decide to stick with pre-med, I just don't want it there if I don't do pre-med

I went to a review session for one of my classes on my ONLY day off before finals and we barely even covered anything directly pertaining to the exam. I was even shaded by my professor for asking about something I apparently should have already known and not googling it beforehand. Really? Review sessions are meant for questions and clarification. Pissed right now.

I just met with one of my deans about dropping Chemistry and he made me feel like THE biggest piece of **** ever. wow. I'm really shocked/repulsed that someone thinks it's okay to speak to a ****ing freshman, well ANYONE, the way he just did. After bawling my eyes out/having a mere panic attack now I have to try and study for two Thursday finals while feeling like complete trash. My school's compassion for mental health is inspiring.
Can't ****ing wait to transfer the **** out of this **** hole.
