idk what slate wants to tell us, but AIWFCIY is of course the most played, bought and streamed holiday song in the world right now (and has been since the advent of itunes).
This week, the song ranks in the top 10 in 3 individual countries, with some more to follow: UK, Sweden and probably Holland later this week.
the song has sold 29,000 digital copies in the US last week alone, with over 30m in audience impressions, placing it at #1 on holiday digital and airplay and also streaming.
on top of the song being the currently most popular christmas song worldwide, her album is also pretty successful.. being top 40 in the US and charting in 4 more major markets. Merry Christmas is going to rise into the top 20/15 this week in Australia and probably into the top 35 in the US.
I didn't count S. Korea, but MC is also charting on the overall albums chart there, despite having sold over 600,000 units there already.
Merry Christmas for whatever reason is not listed in the British albums chart when it is top 100 on itunes (+ remember that sales do include streamng now, AIWFCIY is top 10 in the UK on streaming).
Last week AIWFCIY has approx sold 153,000 units worldwide. While Merry Christmas shifted 31,000 units (worldwide).
