One of my songs is one of the biggest songs of all time. But it fit my trinity perfectly. After submitting instrumentals and songs in French, it was time to give the judges a break
I almost quit tbh b/c I have a tooth infection and I'm in constant pain and no dental insurance and my laptop is broke and my grandfather and great aunt both had heart attacks this week, but I decided not to quit and sent in my subpar entry with no graphics anyway
I'm so sorry, that's terrible. I hope it all works out well.
Also I agree this round could've been about media in general rather than just movies. I liked the idea of using movies but other forms of entertainment could've worked as well.
The reaction to these past couple rounds has been mixed and I've noted it. Luckily I have the better challenges later in the game! Next round is a repeat from last season and people seemed to enjoy it then so hopefully everyone will like it again!
Missing 5 entries. Colton quit. This round will be a single elimination and there will be no double eliminations anywhere in the game. If more people quit I'm going to start cutting rounds.

1. MASSIVE hit
2. Underrated song from an underrated artist to the GP (but not ATRL...he/she's slightly overrated here)
3. One of my favorite songs ever from a band who had a great album this year
That's right I am doing You're Next for my Movie Trinity. Before I'll start my trinity I'll give a summary full of spoilers
The family Davisons is holding there reunion somewhere in the woods in Missouri. Erin also goes there along with her boyfriend Crispian Davison. Also present are Crispians parents, his brother Drake along with his wife Paula. Other people are Tariq, Zee, Aimee and Felix.
They are together dining, when out of the sudden Tariq and Drake are shot by a crossbow. Tariq is killed. Aimee then runs outside and is killed by a garrote wire. The Davisons soon know they are under attack. The attackers are people with animal masks on. Erin doesn't want to give up on life, she becomes very defensive and shuts all the doors and all the windows. Erin goes outside to look if there is anyone outside of the house. There she encounters one of attackers, he has a tiger mask on. Tiger Mask grabs Erin by her hair, but Erin stabs him with a knife in the wrist, after she escaped. But after a short period of time Erin encounters Tiger Mask again. Erin wins the fight and kills Tiger Mask with a meat tenderizer.
Family member by member are being killed and after a while only Zee, Felix and Erin are the survivors. It is revealed that Zee and Felix hired in the people with the animal masks, in order to inherit the money of the family. Erin's Boyfriend Crispian was also part of this gruesome plan. After a long time of escaping of eachother, Erin finally kills Zee and Felix.
The police then comes checking on the house, the policeman thinks that Erin is the killer. He enters the house but is killed by one of the traps. Erin is also the only survivor.
The credits reveal that Erin is seen as one of the suspects and there is an investigation going on for 'her' murders.
The Movie Trinity - You're Next - Erin
Ellie Goulding - Holding On For Life
Erin knows how to survive. She fights back and isn't scared to instantly flee. She fights against the assasins and does everything to survive. She is holding on for life, hoping that she survives. She has the survivors will and is scared to die, but not scared to try her not to die.
Scared to lose, fear attacks
We only know goodbye
Bat For Lashes - What's A Girl To Do
The scenery of this video already matches the movie perfectly, because of the animal masks and the video taking place in the woods. But the song also matches perfectly to Erin. She loves her boyfriend a lot, but when she finds out that Crispian is part of the plan to kill the family members, she loses all the love for him. She loses almost everyone, and in the end no one believes she's innocent. What's a girl to do, in order to come back to the normal world. Her love for Crispian, is replaced with tears. She has lost everyone and doesn't know what to do with her life anymore
And when he asked me:
'do you still love me?'
I had to look away
I didn't want to tell him
That my heart grows colder with each day
Celine Dion - All By Myself
After Erin loses the love of her life, because he betrayed her, she has no one left. Making love isn't fun anymore and she wants people to support her, but everyone is blaming her for the murders. She walks alone on the earth, even though she doesn't want this
All by myself,
Don't wanna be
all by myself

Kevin McCallister
Someday
Different. Outcast. Angered.
"Might paint something I might want to hang here someday
Might write something I want to say to you someday
Might do something I'd be proud of someday
Mark my words, I might be something someday"
Kevin McCallister is an outcast to his own family. For Christmas and the holidays, his family is planning a trip to Paris to visit their cousins. During dinner, he is ridiculed by his brothers, sisters, and cousins, and ultimately ends up so angry that he's sent to the attic to cool down. The next morning when the family goes to the airport to leave to Paris, once on the flight, they realize they forgot Kevin at the house. "Someday" by Tegan and Sara describes a situation similar to Kevin's - someone who is ridiculed and bullied, but should not give up because someday they will be better than that.
In This Diary
Independent. Trickster. Deceiver.
"Breaking into hotel swimming pools
And wreaking havoc on our world
Hanging out at truck stops just to pass the time"
Kevin is the ultimate trickster. When two burglars, Harry and Marv, break into several houses, Kevin sets up traps all throughout the house. Being the ultimate kid, be plays around with childhood toys, and also dangerous tools and fireworks to make sure that he is safe, but also to ultimately screw around with the burglars for fun and enjoyment. Like The Ataris song "In This Diary", Kevin just wants to have fun, **** things up, and enjoy the times of being a child - he is a prankster after all.
Here I Am
Caring. Compassionate. Warm-hearted.
"If you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I'll always be your friend"
Although Kevin is a great prankster and can get readily angry, he truly is a kind, and compassionate young adult. On Christmas Eve, Kevin goes to a local Church to hear a choir perform. Marley, Kevin's neighbor whom he assumes is a shovel-murderer because of his family's stories and lies, arrives and sits next to Kevin. They start talking and he dismisses the rumors. While talking, Marley talks about his granddaughter who is in the choir, and how Marley and his son do not talk anymore. Brokenhearted, Kevin suggests he just talks to his son to try and rekindle their relationship. Kevin lets him know that he'll be there for Marley, and this shows Kevin's caring and loving side.

Ellen Ripley
Survivor - Savior - Warrior
Ellen Ripley is the main protagonist from the Alien movie franchise and is considered one of the greatest heroes ever represented on film. Ripley set the standard for how women should want to be portrayed in horror movies. There is no screaming from this queen, no running away, no sex. She's not a damsel in distress, she is the hero. Ripley is a fierce warrior of a woman that tackles her every task and situation with a steely determination to not only save herself, but those around her as well.
Pat Benatar - Invincible
"We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible"
This song feels very empowering to me and the chorus of this song really embodies who Ripley is to me, never backing down from the enemy. She remains strong and vigilant throughout everything she goes through and destroys the Alien queen.
Queen Latifah & Monie Love - Ladies First
Another female empowerment anthem, I feel the meaning behind this song fits with what Ripley is all about. Women can do whatever men can do, whether it be slaying aliens or spitting a killer flow.
Rihanna - Hard
This song and video really go with theme of Ripley being a warrior and a survivor. Rih survived an abusive boyfriend and only emerged stronger from the experience, just like Ripley battled her demons and only became a stronger, better person from the hardships life threw at her. That Ripley reign just won't let up.

Squidward Tentacles
As seen in: "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" and the hit sequel "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water"
Squidward is depicted as a bitter, very unfortunate, desperate, curt, arrogant, turquoise octopus. He lives in a constant state of self-pity and misery; he is unhappy with his humdrum lifestyle and yearns for celebrity status, wealth, hair, and a glamorous and distinguished career as a musician or painter with a passion for art.
Being that Squidward would accept nothing less than top notch songs, I present the Pitchfork Approved Pretentious Trinity of Squidward Tentacles:
Joanna Newsom - "This Side of the Blue"
"And the rest of our lives
Will the moments accrue
When the shape of their goneness
Will flare up anew
Then we do what we have to do"
This song is an existentialist view of the pointlessness of life. She tells a story of 3 different people in her story, none of them connected, all leading very different lives. Yet, all of them have a monotonous, hum-drum way of living. This speaks to Squidward as a character, since he too is just another character in what could be anyone's story, living a dull life. This song is especially fitting for Squidward, since he is on the INSIDE of the blue, meaning the sea. This song symbolizes what Squidward sees on the OUTSIDE of the blue, which is just more meaningless lives going about their day-to-day.
FKA Twigs - "Water Me"
"He told me I was small
I said water me"
To continue with the water theme, this song represents Squidward's love affair with fame and celebrity status. Personifying Fame, we can see how Squidward tries to please Fame, to offer him all he has (his artistic talents) in return for Fame's love, which in this case is wealth and celebrity status. When Fame rejects his pleas, telling him he is too small, in this case not being talented enough, Squidward replies with "water me" as to signify that with Fame's help, he could be the best their is. In the end, though, Fame is ultimately uninterested in Squidward, killing his hope at achieving his goals at a glamorous life.
Sky Ferreira - "Everything is Embarrassing"
"Maybe if you let me be your lover
Maybe if you try then I would not bother
I've been hating everything, everything that could have been
Could have been my anything, now everything's embarrassing"
This song represents the aftermath of his relationship with Fame. Squidward's depression and cynicism stems from his deceased life goals, yet he continues to try to reach for those goals, being Fame, creating a circular pattern of disappointment. After trying so hard, giving it his all, Squidward is always left with the same result, embarrassment and disdain for living. He is constantly ridiculed by the general public of Bikini Bottom, he works as a cashier in a fast food restaurant, and he is stuck with having to live in a world where SpongeBob and Patrick constantly add strife to his daily life. For Squidward, everything is embarrassing.
Squidward will always remain in the cyclical life of never achieving his dreams, and remaining sad about his general existence in the world.

mulan ; balancing gender expectations
Disney's Mulan is an adaptation of legendary female warrior Hua Mulan, a traditional story told in the Southern and Northern dynasties of China. The original story describes a young woman who takes the place of her conscripted father in the incoming war. Disney's adaptation follows this story generally, but adds the romance element to it. Mulan's greatest characteristic is her strong will and the way she balances what is expected of her in terms of gender.
> "Kitty Kat" Don't take me by the hand and walk me through with pity / If I was a man, would you still do the same?
Mulan has to juggle with the expectations put on her as a woman. Would people treat her the same if she was a man? In her experience, when she is disguised as a man she experiences great praise from her peers and is regarded as a brave hero. Really, that is who she is all along: a strong woman with a mind of her own. The problem is that she is never given the chance to let others know that.
> "Bassically" Is that what you want? / Like the other boys / Someone you can flaunt
Mulan also has pressure to look "good" so that she can attract a husband. Only her looks are valued as a woman, and she has to maintain herself in a way that is perfect. In that sense, she is forced to be something that can be flaunted. No one actually cares to listen to what her ambitions are or what she has to say.
> "World Princess Pt. II" I know most likely / How I used to be a frail and silly thought in your mind / Don't be unkind / You're so far behind me
After all is said and done, Mulan is still a princess - but she is not a princess who sits by idly. As she demonstrates her true power, she overcomes the strict boundaries set for her. She ends up saving the emperor and in the process shows how strong she is. She puts all the negativity and the harsh rules behind her and ends up as the best princess ever.

The character I have selected for this challenge is Katniss Everdeen from
The Hunger Games franchise. A somewhat obvious, albeit appropriate
selection given the recent release of the final chapter in the epic story
of a girl who volunteered her own life to save her sister, found true love
in the most unexpected of ways and fought for answers to the questions
she once only dreamed of discovering the answers to.
Inspired by "The Hunger Games"
Katniss Everdeen is not one to be accepting of the unknown. Her hunger
to explore the world for herself instead of just accepting what she is
spoonfed is only too obvious. She constantly challenges the ideals of
the overruling Capitol and refuses to give up until she achieves her goals.
Even when her actions lead her into darkness, her hunger for peace
and justice always brings her right where she is supposed to be.
Inspired by "Catching Fire"
The last thing Katniss Everdeen expected to find when entering an
arena filled with 23 other tributes wanting to kill her was true love.
While Katniss is unsure of her feelings for district partner Peeta Mellark
in her first games, they're proven only too real in their second. Her love
for him becomes so true that when he is taken by the Capitol she
risks her own life time and time again to get him back.
Inspired by "Mockingjay"
Katniss Everdeen had a younger sister who she was very close to due
to them losing their father at a young age, which sent their mother into
a state where she couldn't properly care for them. In this time, Katniss
was like a parent figure to her sister Prim. Katniss volunteered in Prim's
place in the original hunger games, an act only ever meant to save her life,
but in a twisted turn of events, cost her life due to the rebellion she began.
In this movie, Divine is named the filthiest person alive. Connie & Raymond Marble are a local couple that are seeking that title and seek out to take it from Divine. But in the end, when Divine is able to capture Connie & Raymond and is planning their live murder, she tells the press that she's seeking more followers in her cult of the filth and she hopes more will come when she moves again. She already has one along with her son in this movie. I chose this song because this is a cover of Divine's greatest hit, "You Think You're A Man." Divine is inspirational to some in the movie with her filth, and is inspirational to the Vaselines in real life with her music.
R E V E N G E
While Connie and Raymond Marble are seeking out to snatch Divine's title of most filthy away from her, they end up in a battle with her. It starts off when Connie & Raymond send a box with a bowel movement to Divine, then Divine goes to their house and proceeds to lick and spit on everything, as well as giving her son a blow job on their couch. Connie & Raymond Marble then set Divine's trailer house on fire, and this culminates with Divine kidnapping the Marbles and then inviting press over to film their live murder. The theme of revenge is strong in this movie with Divine and this song and its music video exemplifies revenge to a T. F I L T H Y C A M P
Divine and the movie Pink Flamingos were able to marry camp with the intentional filthiness of the movie. Divine performs a variety of grotesque tasks in this movie, notably being her eating a piece of dog feces at the very end, but there are other campier things, such as the killing of several cops who tried to bust her birthday party and then the scene with her party eating the dead cops by holding giant leg bones and laughing about it. Divine, even in her most serious scenes, remains light hearted about her filthiness, such as the end with the murder of the marbles, she first held a "trial" for the press with Divine as the judge, and her son and one of her followers as the witnesses This song is the perfect mash of being filthy as well as campy. Who would think that this middle aged woman with a salsa beat would be singing about ****ing and sucking?

Stitch - From Lilo and Stitch
Stitch aka Experiment 626 was one of many created by Dr. Jumbo to wreck havoc in the galaxy. They were captured by some sort of Galactic Police force but Stitch eventually escapes and made it to Earth. Despite being a creature of destruction he eventually met Lilo and learned the value of friendship and being good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ona42jz8w0k
What better way to describe Experiment 626 then for what he is, a monster. The lyrics, the beat, the theme of the song all come together in this first part of the trinity.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qxxzz7U9NvA
This song describes the beginning of the relationship Stitch has with Lilo. The lyrics really fit in with the character development of Stitch.
Quote:
If it wasn't for you, I'd be alone
If it wasn't for you, I'd be on my own
And this is true. If Stitch never met Lilo, then he still would be a disruptive creature looked down on by practically everyone and potentially would’ve never known friendship and being good.
Quote:
We got a friendship, no one can contest it
And not to mention, I respect you with my all
People tried to keep Lilo away from Stitch so their friendship is constantly contested but there so much respect formed after Stitch learn the value of being good and save Lilo from the main villain of the movie, Gunta.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF8BRvqGCNs
Eventually there was a point where Stitch was found by the people who captured him but due to his connection with Lilo, he proposed to stay on Earth in exile with her. Stitch no longer behaves like the diabolical monster he was made to be and had grown good at this point.
Quote:
Funny you're the broken one
But I'm the only one who needed saving
From a certain viewpoint, it would look like Lilo is the one that need saving living only with her big sister and not having friends. But in reality, Stitch is the one that need saving from basically himself for being evil and Lilo doesn’t need saving with him around. For those reasons, this song is simple and perfectly describe the connection between Lilo and Stitch.
MusicLoverDude
Lately, I've been really into animash, and video editing revolving around animated characters. That's why for this round, I decided to go with Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I'm even using Arial font. SeaGreen font will be used for info given in between song choices. DarkOrchid font will be used for the info for each song choice. Both color choices correspond with Ariel's outfit
Despite being a princess to an underwater kingdom, Ariel was unhappy with her life underwater and was curious about the human world up above. As a teen she would collect human artifacts with her friends, which increased her curiosity about the human world and her desire to see it, explore it and experience it. That is why "Someday" by The Summer Set is the first song I have chosen for Ariel's trinity. She's a teenager that wants to explore the unknown and "see the world", similar to how a lot of teenagers and young adults want to get away from home and see places they've never been to. It makes her very relateable.
Ariel's main motivation for becoming human would be her main love interest, Prince Eric. She saved his life one night after a storm at sea sent Eric overboard. She sang to him as he awoke, but left before she could be seen, leaving Eric with just the sound of her voice. For Ariel, it's love at first sight, and her friend creates a statue of him as a nice gesture. This, combined with Ariel's desires to explore the human world, cause friction between Ariel and her father King Triton, who upon discovering her collecton of things, and her feelings for Eric, destroys everything, leaving her devastated. This leaves Ariel in a vulnerable state to be taken advantage of, and this leads into my next song choice.
Ariel is led to Ursula the sea witch, where she signs a 3 day contract. She becomes a human temporarily in exchange for her voice, and would have to get a kiss of true love from Eric to be a human permanently. Ariel almost gets this from Eric while on a date. But Ursula intervenes, in particular, turns into a human herself, casts a spell on Eric, and convinces him that she is the one that saved her life. Under this spell, they plan a wedding for sunset on the last day of the deal. Ariel witnesses them together and watches the ship sail off. She is both devastated and heartbroken. This song, "Broken" by Seether featuring Amy Lee represents her feelings for Eric and how much he means to her, and how she feels when she isn't around him.
Ariel's friends find out however that Ursula is the mystery woman, and they head to the ship to stop the wedding. Once there, Ariel's voice is returned back to her after the shell Ursula kept it in breaks and Eric realizes she's the one who saved him. And after fighting and killing Ursula in a life or death, which ends up saving Ariel's home of Atlantica, herself, and her father, the two of them get married after King Triton willingly lets Ariel become human permanently. And this leads me into my last song for Ariel
"Two Worlds Collide" by Demi Lovato wraps everything up. The lyrics remind me of Ariel's journey throughout the movie and how she got her happy ending in the end. Plus, this song perfectly describes the ending of the movie: a former mermaid marrying a human prince, and thus combining their worlds into one.
The movie, and these songs choices show how Ariel, despite being a mermaid, is also a very relateable character, going through life similar to how we do and dealing with love just like all of us do. It's why she's one of the most popular and likable Disney princesses and it's one of the reasons she's one of my favorites as well.
Scarlett O'Hara is the protagonist in Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel Gone with the Wind and in the later film of the same name. She is an atypical protagonist, especially as a female romantic lead in fiction. She lives on her family's plantation Tara in Georgia. When the novel opens, Scarlett is sixteen. She is vain, self-centered, and very spoiled by her wealthy parents. She can also be insecure; but is very intelligent.
Outwardly, Scarlett is the picture of Southern charm and womanly virtues, and a popular belle with the County males. The one man she truly wants, however, is her neighbor, Ashley Wilkes -- the one man she can't have. Scarlett pursues Ashley while also being pursued by Rhett Butler, an older bachelor and a society pariah.
Soon, the Civil War sweeps away the lifestyle for which Scarlett was raised, and Southern society falls into ruin. Scarlett, left destitute after Sherman's army marches through Georgia, becomes the sole source of strength for her family. Her character begins to harden as her relatives, the family servants and the Wilkes family look to her for protection from homelessness and starvation.
Favorite lyrics: “I said, Georgia
Georgia, a song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines”
"Georgia on My Mind" - Ray Charles
This is perhaps an obvious choice, but I found it appropriate for Scarlett. Scarlett lives on her family plantation of Tara in Georgia, and much of the film takes place there. At the beginning of the film, Scarlett is, though spoiled, fairly innocent. As the film goes on, she becomes increasingly jaded except in vulnerable moments with Ashley and Rhett.
"Georgia on My Mind" captures the younger, innocent side of Scarlett. It represents her love for Tara, for Ashley and for Rhett. Though Scarlett hardens into a stone-cold survivor throughout the film, she never loses those loves. Her love for Tara, Ashley and Rhett keeps her motivated through the Civil War, and I found it important to represent that.
Favorite lyrics: “It's Morano Laurent
It’s McQueen or Celine
Got these bitches so jealous,
I hope they look good in green”
"Opulence" - Brooke Candy
Of course, Scarlett is also vain and materialistic. Scarlett is both a rebel against polite society and a slave to it. She's obsesses with both physical and social appearances throughout the film and maintains a fashionably small 17-inch waist.
"Opulence" is a haughty bop that shows Scarlett as the unapologetic well-bred Southern girl that she is. There's a layer of artificiality to the song, which fits how Scarlett maintains the front of an elite socialite even through poverty caused by the Civil War. As shown by the famous curtain dress, Scarlett always demands to be the belle of the ball. Recognize opulence.
Favorite lyrics: “He's a cold-hearted snake,
Look into his eyes
Uh oh!
He's been tellin' lies!”
"Cold Hearted" - Paula Abdul
There's no doubt that Scarlett is manipulative and ruthless, even if to survive. She marries one husband to spite Ashley, and pursues Ashley even though both of them are married. She exploits convict labor and steals her sister's fiancé to replenish Tara's wealth after Sherman's march through Atlanta.
rl231's JOY Trinity
I chose Joy from Inside Out. In the movie, there are five feelings all within 11 year old Riley's head (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust). Joy is the main leader of the emotions and has the most control over Riley's life, even if it pushes out other emotions like Sadness.
So I'm going to start with a choice that's probably obvious but definitely necessary with Pharrell's Happy. Joy, as a character, is an emotion that wants Riley to always have a happy demeanor, even when things aren't going amazingly, especially at the beginning of the movie when she's moving from her home in Minnesota to San Francisco. Joy wants Riley to continually have a happy disposition and feels that consistent happiness, like this song, is the cure to Riley's funk. Happy would essentially be the song that would be Joy's absolute favorite because it represents her joyous disposition.
Next is Carly Rae Jepsen's Making the Most of the Night. In the song, Carly Rae asks her friend (or boyfriend, depending on how you interpret it) to let it all go and "make the most of the night." Also, she knows that her friend is having a rough time, which is exactly how Riley is like at the moment, and that she wants to hijack them and make them feel better. This is exactly how Joy is like. She wants to take over and make you feel better, in regards to any situation. The word "hijack" is fitting for Joy because she's mainly the boss leader and likes having the control, even if it might not be the best thing for Riley.
As I was alluding to at the beginning of the entry, Joy tries to keep Sadness out of the picture as to not make Riley be a sad person and be happy all the time. However, as Riley is going through this tough transition period, Joy isn't realizing that she needs to realize that Riley doesn't need to be happy all the time. When she finally comes to this realization, she cries a little bit and then gives Sadness some control over Riley's emotions. Once Riley lets the sadness away, Joy realizes that what she and Riley have just shook out their sadness after a little cry. Thus, I picked Shake It Out by Florence + the Machine. The song epitomizes Joy towards the end of the movie where she sees the wrong but well-intentioned things that she was doing to Riley. And so she decides to shake out her control and let all the other emotions work together with her to give Riley a great life.
genetic fail
Hey so seeing that you haven't posted my entry yet, I decided to edit it a bit. If that's okay. If not, just use the previous one I sent you. Thanks
"I am Beatrix Kiddo aka Black Mamba aka The Bride. I was in love with the man who ruined me. A man named Bill.
And I... must kill Bill."
"After abandoning the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, I tried to live a normal life. I got pregnant and was set on marrying, but Bill would not let that happen. He and the squad killed everyone at my wedding rehearsal, my family, my friends, my husband-to-be, and my baby. He killed our baby. He thought he had killed me too. But I am one tough mother****er. Four years later, I wake up from a coma. And I am damn sure hellbent on revenge. This is my story."
"When Bill shot me to die, he only killed my feelings for him. And now all that's left is anguish. Pain. A thirst for revenge. This inspired me to quickly recover from my coma, get back on my feet and start collecting heads." Fighter talks about rising from the ashes after someone totally wronged you. This song is perfect for The Bride because that is exactly what happened to her. And this thirst for revenge is what will motivate her to do the things she will do.
"It's payback time. Every one of them mother****ing bitches will experience hell like never before. O-Ren Ishii, Vernita Green, Elle Driver, Budd and , Bill. Especially Bill." She then goes on a killing spree picking off the members of the squad one by one. I chose thing song because of its violent and spiteful message and because it is rock, which I think is one of the best genres for expressing anger (Fighter also has rock influences and so does the last song).
Sobakasu lyrics
English translation:
I brush a little against
Those hated freckles, and give a single sigh
My heavyweight love splendidly
Dissolved along with a sugar cube
With a "tick", the thorn stuck
in my thin chest hurt more than before
Even a horoscope couldn't have predicted that
If we could have been together
Until we had gotten further, hey
Just that would've made me happy
Memories are always beautiful, but
With just them, your stomach will feel empty
And the truth is, though this is a painful night
I wonder why?
I can't even remember his smile
I understand
I just break things and fix them
But that's just my character
With impatient feelings
Ambiguous as always
Nonetheless, it was a good love
When I gave in
And you got your left ear pierced, hey
It's an episode I can't laugh about
I try to count all my freckles
While hugging my dirty stuffed animals
The thorn stuck in my chest won't disappear, but
Froggy and Bunny
Smile at me
Memories are always beautiful, but
With just them, your stomach will feel empty
And the truth is, though this is a painful night
I wonder why?
I can't even remember his tears
I can't even remember
Why... La La La La La La
Why can't I?
"Mission accomplished. I did what I needed to do. It's time to move on with the rest of my life now. My baby is alive and I'm going to be the best mother I can be for her. And before Bill died, we had a heart-to-heart talk. Now that might be ****ing cheesy but it did give me closure. Revenge is over. I think I'll be peaceful now." The message of the song is moving on from something that you once loved and finding peace and happiness within yourself. The final conversation between Beatrix and Bill revealed that they have mutual respect and a little bit of love left for each other. But she knew she had to kill him in order to be at peace. And so she did. I chose a Japanese song because the film was heavily influenced by Japanese culture.
