Gimme More is one of my least favorite singles of the Queen. I just think it's very weak. That's just my opinion though.
I repeat: MY OPINION
AND FOR THE RECORD: MYYYYYY OPIINIOOONNNN

I loooooooooooooveeeeee "Gimme More". I've always said it's like I'm a Slave 4 U's big sister. Danja definitely did his homework.

And yes, the public loved it. If we at least had the Britney from the IUSA era by then, it could have done better... But then we also can't ignore the fact that the freakshow around her in early 2008 probably helped the song - I mean, those lyrics?!

That whole period was just epic, i mean i hated that period and was so sad for Britney(as im sure everyone was), but with everything she was going through, releasing Piece of Me was just so fitting and perfect! Never Forget!

Karlos, I know its YOUR OPINION but weak? The opening salvo is enough to punch in the eye with the golden knuckles embedded between Larry Rudolph's fingers.

I posted this is the Circus Tour thread but I think it should be discussed here too. I've really been thinking about this so much lately and I just had to vent.
you know, seeing all the "This Is It" previews makes me sick. To think that a man who is 50 years old, scrutinized by the media more so than any other celeb in history, and days away from dying can out perform any Britney performance circa ITZ is just unacceptable. I am tired of us fans thinking it ****ing monumental when she releases a music video or MAYBE says 5 words for an acceptance speech (see TCA 09). Britney needs to take a year or 2 off and focus on getting her life back together. She needs to make sure that this is really what she wants to do. Her fans are only gonna support her "rise from the ashes" for so long. They are going to need someone with some substance. Someone who can do a damn interview without acting like she's reading cue cards or clueless where she is. Someone who can promote an album properly like EVERY OTHER artist out there. We need someone who can made just match her performance abilities during the ITZ era (improving would be a plus). We can blame it on her team, we can blame it on the meds, we can blame it on anything that makes us sleep at night but Britney is the only one who can make the changes Britney needs to make.

^ The "This Is It" previews never impressed me.... and they didn't make me think Britney was worse off than him or whatever.
I actually think his tour would have panned (had it really come to fruition). Britney rocked it day in and day out. And it's funny cause Michael never would have gotten through half of those tour dates. Britney did.... It all comes down to self-worth, perseverance, etc. And she succeeded.... she crossed all odds....

Derek, that post couldn't have been truer.
Now just WATCH as Anthony and all the other smartasses tell you "Britney DOESN'T need to promote an album, she's established BLAHBLAHBLAH."

The said the same things about Britney that you say about Michael. The preview with MICHAEL actually teaching the dance to his dancers shows what a true PERFORMER is. It's about perfecting your craft, something Britney has regressed on. The only thing Brit gave to her dancers was her craptastic mannequin choreo
EDIT: I don't understand how you got out of my post that I think Britney was "worse off" than Michael?

"Established" can only last for so long. Most of Britney's fan base is in early adulthood. As I previously stated, sooner rather than later they are going to need someone with substance. The are not going to turn to someone who sings songs about **** Me or having 3 somes. ITZ and some of Blackout were huge steps in the right direction to establishing an mature sound and something more relate able to her aging fan base.

To be honest, the Blackout era was 30 times better than the Circus era. She's being dragged all around the world for money. It's like they're trying to squeeze every last dollar she can make off of her before she breaks down & becomes a psycho again...

Exactly man.
"Thank you very much, God Bless you"
No more, no less...she's acting like a robot, a bad one.
I dont think she wants to keep doing this, to be honest.

You know, it's "fans" like these who piss me off. You don't have any respect for her, totally selfish to her current life, and just disregarding everything. You couldn't give a damn about her, in my opinion. Do you even remember January 2008 she was strapped in an ambulance? Mind you that was only 8 months before "Womanizer" dropped. Did you "fans" just think, oh she'll go right back to form after all the **** she's been through from 2005-2008? Right back to being happy Britney, right back to tip-top performance level, tip-top work ethic....you'd have to be stupid to think such things.
Do I agree that eventually something needs to be done? YES. I want all the kicks of promotion, interviews, etc. from In The Zone and before. But, that's just it. You're speaking like everything has just been handy dandy since the releases of Blackout and Circus. We won't discuss the first, but the latter is and has always been the rollover era. This era is about regaining that Britney star. On top of that, she's being controlled. She has no control over any of her business/personal affairs. So when she does an interview, of course, people are going to prompt the interviewer and prompt her. Acceptance speeches are told to be kept short and simple. Plus that's Britney's natural nervousness. Show me several extended acceptances from her.
The base is everything is PLANNED this era. It was never going to be like before. I hate that you are judging Britney herself when there are obviously so many things holding back it being a typical era. The time to complain, bitch, and moan about this is if next era it's the same thing. And, yes that's after she hopefully takes some time off. The only thing in your post I somewhat agree with.

You are worried about the star, Derek is worried about the person.
