Face it, Chanel Oberlin isn't supposed to be a completely likeable character. Emma stated from the beginning she was going to be a polarizing character. You were either going to love her or hate her. However, the show would be absoutely nothing without her. Because for one, Emma delivers (along with Lea, Niecy, and Jamie) the best performance on the show in her part. She is the selling point of the show. When you think of the show, you think of Chanel.
Since we all established she's the most popular character on the show, we should establish the fact that all performances outside of #3, Chad (even though everything his character says now is complete overkill and annoying trash), Gigi, Hester, and Munsch, are trash. Keke is playing Keke, Skyler makes Grace really annoying which I guess is the point, and that's pretty much it in a nutshell.
Abigail's acting is literally worse than Emma's as Maggie. She's on Taissa as Zoe level rn.
Also yeah Abigail was nominated for 24 awards, back when she was like 7, back when she had acting talent. I guess some just peak early.
Number of entries in Billie Lourd's: 1 (this show)
Number of Times Billie Lourde has Ever Acted Before Scream Queens: Zero. It shows. The fact that Abigail has tons of past experience, on the other hand, also shows in her giving a genuinely good performance. But this is going in circles. If you can explain, in at least somewhat objective terms, what's wrong with Abigail's performance, I'll explain what's wrong with Billie's
As for the person saying Abigail gets no noms, she got nominated for an SAG award two years ago. So yeah, she does.
As for O being polarizing, it's because she's such a bitch and some people won't find that entertaining. She wasn't meant to be polarizing on account of having less consistency than someone with split personality disorder
Chad was a really nice comedic character at the beginning. But they overused him SO much and he's intolerable to everyone but Repo at this point. I can tolerate Grace even more than him, which is a major problem. He gets on screen, says something about his boner, some nercrophilic **** that wasn't funny to begin with, and leaves. He serves no purpose to the plot. He needs to go.

SO WHY WOULD YOU PULL UP ACCOLADES TO COMPARE ACTRESSES WHEN ONE HAS BEEN ACTING SINCE 2002 (technically 2000) TO ONE WHO JUST DEBUTED THIS YEAR???
But Abigail's past nominations are pointless because she is absolutely horrendous in this show. There's no way to explain it any more than saying she's unconvincing. The character itself is convincing (but still annoying) but Abigail has the acting skills of someone in their first school play in the eighth grade while Billie has perfectly captured the monotonous attempted-apathy-but-too-complex-to-actually-be-emotionless character that she is.
Y'all are gonna set Repo off to write an essay about how Chanel is overused as a main character. Hush. (Even though y'all are right.)
I completely agree that Chad's been on overkill with the Chanel stuff, and I actually think he's had some really terrible writing at points. Glen Powell is just good enough at acting to keep them amusing despite that.
That said, I find it VEEEEEEEEEEEERY interesting that all the Chanel O fans seem to agree he got overused the exact same ep he was an uber-douche that spoiled bitch apart.
And, you know, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. No one on this show is as overused as Oberlin (well, outside #2)
I'm actually LIVING for Abigail's overreacting in this show but anyone who thinks her performance is better than the likes of Jamie Lee/Billie Lourde/Emma Roberts/Glen Powell/and the actresses who play Gigi and Densie are just delusional.
You can't overuse a main character who the plot is centered around. Meanwhile, Chad is not THE main character and hasn't had any development (well, he did, but now Boone's dead for real and now no one gives a **** about him-- or Earl, for that matter) and all he's there for is to **** on Chanel in a way that's getting very, very, very old.
Oberlin IS the main character and IS essential to the entire damn plot/show. She and Grace are kind of the most used characters for a reason.
In case it's not obvious, I'm saying Oberlin has zero business being the main damn character.

I think I'm not communicating effectively. My point is that Breslin HAS proven she can act before, whereas Billie has no experience. The fact Breslin DOES have experience shows in her performance, much like the fact Lourde DOESN'T have experience is also showing. At least in my opinion.
Abigail's not MEANT to be particularly convincing. She's giving a purely comedic, campy performance (RE: trying to generate laughs) I'm laughing, so she's doing her job. I can't think of a single serious moment #5 has had. Though I mean... this is just subjective anyways. We'd be better off agreeing to disagree than rehashing arguments
And mess, you guys need to remember there's more internet off of ATRL. Chad is getting backlash here, but he's popular outside this site still

See above. And Oberlin has had zero development too. Again, glass house, throwing stones. Not a good idea

BUT, Oberlin is a woman and therefore her not caring that any of the Kappa's are dead is way worse than King Chad not caring that any of the DDS' are dead
Chanel is iconic I can't believe there are so many haters when you gays normally stan for women like her
They ARE stanning for her. I'm the only person on all of ATRL who thinks she's poorly written since Ryan can't decide if she should be a hateable monster or flawed but likeable bitch. So she alternates between the two every episode

1. Chad does care that the DDS are dead
2. My issue with O isn't that she doesn't care that the Kappas are dead, it's that they're trying to redeem her despite laying zero groundwork
3. I don't think Chad SHOULD be the main character, said his writing has been messy, AND said he's overused.
4. If you're gonna call me a sexist, say it to my face and provide actual evidence. The burden of proof is on the accuser. So far, you're grasping at straws to discredit my perfectly valid opinion of not liking your fav
Even the most hateable monsters are somewhat likeable and have depth. There's a reason Chanel is the way she is. Part of it has to do with her upbringing. Oberlin only tried to murder Hester because of Chad, who she is OBSESSED with. Besides that, she's showed sympathy for everyone (Zayday, Grace, etc).
