That was during Katy's commercial peak with singles, not really comparable to 2016 coming off two consecutive "flop" singles. Adele's singles power was comparable to Katy's in 2012, Adele's singles power has increased since then (Hello debuting at #1, breaking all records etc.), Katy's has declined significantly.

Embarrassing. But she's never been an album seller, so eh.

I hope y'all realise that you're completely see through, by the way. Last week you were all crying that she was going to release a flop single, this week you're all crying that she isn't going to release a single. The only way she could've won would be to have never created the song in the first place. You all want her to follow the Rihanna model of releasing yearly, but have constant meltdowns over your perception of low quality tracks on Prism. You cant demand constant music from someone and expect everything to be at least a 7/10. Even Rihanna fans would admit her yearly albums aren't all killer no filler.
It's not like This Is How We Do flopped to oblivion and then she sat at home for 18 months, she's been busy. Give her at least a couple weeks to come down from the Prism era before lynching her.

I believe I did say "some good points" and that it wasn't "entirely delusional".
You made some good points, but EDIAH should have been released to Spotify and iTunes as something to tide fans over and keep her social media presence alive with the GP. It was a waste of time and money for Capitol to book Duke Dumont and get a full song done just to do nothing with it outside of an ad.
As far as breaks go, I don't want a yearly release. But I don't want a 3-year break either if the material doesn't warrant it. You used PRISM as an example, but that wasn't rushed, that was released three years after TD (CC doesn't count because they wrote literally one new song for it). 1.5-2 years is a good break because it avoids overexposure yet it's still fairly regular and keeps people interested. It's not smart to have these long ass breaks, it's the reason why she's sold so much less than her contemporaries because they have released 2, even 3 more albums in the same timeframe.
She isn't on the same level as someone such as Adele who can afford to take a 4 year break and still enjoy the royalties her last album is bringing in and absolutely smash with the next album with minimal effort.
