Adding to this:

Pete/last red Devil wants to get the ultimate revenge. Gigi/Boone were just killing random people, but Pete wants to get revenge for his mother and kill everyone related, hence why he killed that Mandy person. He wanted to get close to Chanel when he was a freshman so he could kill her and her mom, Happy Oberlin, originally named Coco, the dumb-ish girl from 1995 who said Waterfalls was playing. But obviously that didn't work.

Now, he meets Grace, an innocent girl who is the daughter of the person who is basically the reason his mom died. He is leading her on trying to think he is in love with her, but in the end he will end up killing her as revenge for his mom.

Considering the first president's tanning spray was tampered with, it rules out almost all freshmen.

The Red Devil first striked then. It only make sense for it to be Chanel #1, Chanel #3, Chanel #5, Pete, or Boone to have done that to her.

The real question is why. Why attack the president before Chanel #1?

In the first episode, Pete told Grace about how he was crushing on Chanel when he entered the school as a freshman. So he's younger than all the Chanels, so he could be the same age as Boone or a year younger? (I don't know if Boone's age was revealed but I think he's around the same age as Chad or younger since he considered Boone to be his little gay bro). Him being held back could be the reason for the difference in their level in college. It could also explain why Pete wasn't murdered by the Red Devil in the Dean's office. Boone could have been pranking Pete by giving him a wedgie on that statue in the front building as a sort of fraternal dominance?
