Amazing that these are all from around the year 2000. Its taken nearly 15 years for an artist to come along and challenge these figures. And to do so in the current sales climate makes it so much more powerful than any of those on the list. Plus most of those are very local(NSYNC & BB were never as big globally as they were in the US) whereas Adele is as global as you can possibly get.

The article says that the deal doesn't prevent her from performing or appearing at the Grammys. Perhaps because the Grammys are in February, and the NBC deal is only for the first couple of months of promo.

I was expecting like 800k and was gonna cackle but now I'm rooting for her to keep growing tbh. It's so exciting to see someone performing like this in the face of the worst sales climate in decades.
