We should have a game here to rewrite the season, Twisty was truly the one that got away turning his backstory into a snooze fest. If sonebody could revive AHS then it was him. Of course Ryan decided to focus on Elsa's almost identical story to Fiona - life everlasting, fame, boy toys ans narcissistic behaviour.
He should have focused on Twisty, Dandy and Gloria... This is why im happy Jessica is gone. I refuse to watch another season where they create Fiona 3.0.
At least Hotel doesn't have an old woman trying to stay relevant. I guess they brought their best game for Gaga. If it wasn't for her we would have gotten a Freakshow continuation as Ryan was running out of inspiration.

He did focus on Dandy more than on any other character. And if it wasn't for Bette & Dot the season would have gotten worse.
Freak Show Pro & Contra list:
Pro:
- Dandy's evolution from being a bored rich kid to the psychopath he truly is
- The story focusing on cult character Pepper which was a nice addition
- Bette & Dot going through a rollercoaster of emotions and receive a happy ending
- The freaks being all real (except for the main cast)
- Stanley got what he deserved in the end
- The candy striper Penny turning into a freak 'thanks' to her daddy
- Elsa's flashbacks (Hans Gruber, the snuff film experience among others)
- Ethel's and the freaks' flashbacks in general
- Desiree living the normal life with her family she always dreamed about
- Some of the recurring castees outshining some of the main cast (to be more specific Patti LaBelle as Dora, Grace Gummer as Penny, Matt Bomer as Andy and most importantly John Carroll Lynch as Twisty)
Contra:
- Killing Twisty off was a huge mistake
- Emma Roberts as Maggie Esmerelda didn't quite work out
- Yet again Jessica Lange as the headmistress and dare you, you say a wrong thing
- Edward Mordrake should have played a bigger role
- The story of Dell Toledo was too boring
- Gloria Mott was a great character and so fitting for Frances - she died too soon
- Neil Patrick Harris as Chester Crab was 100% filler and a non-event
- The musical numbers were even more filler despite them being actually great sung by Evan & Sarah especially
- Some deaths were just tragic and uncalled for (talking about Ma Petite's or Maggie's killings)
- Desiree shouldn't have stopped Dell from hanging himself
