Adele isn't size 0 either but she dresses decently so it doesn't matter. Kelly's horrible fashion sense really doesn't help her image. Her weight isn't that much problem in my opinion. She was chubby (although not as much as during the beginnig of PBP era) during promoting WIR or during Obama's inauguration. But good styling really helped. A perfect example is her outfit when she won Grammy for Stronger and her outfit at the same Grammys when she performed. The difference is huge imo and it is only a matter of dress.

I think Kelly can. She's recovered from flop singles several times....she's never overexposed, so if she releases a good song and promotes it, the public will be here for her. She's got solid HAC support which is a great foundation.

Also, it's not like she's had a long period of flopping like a lot of the other options in the OP. In 2012 her album had a #1 hit and reached a million copies, and she released a successful Greatest Hits. In 2013, she won a Grammy, her lead single from her Greatest Hits became a decent sized hit, and she released a very successful Christmas album that quickly went Platinum and became the top selling Holiday album of the year.

Even with Piece By Piece, Heartbeat Song did moderately well as a lead single....she didn't give it the promotion it needed, and only promoted it on album release week when it was too late. The album still debuted at #1, and had first week sales numbers just about on par with her past albums if you factor in the decline of record sales over the years.

Kelly is not going to have it easy. It's easy for popgirls with big star power and high celebrity level so her name alone isn't enough.

Since Mariah writes/composes her own music she'll have the least chance to make a comeback. Then Avril and Xtina, then Kelly and last but surely least J Lo and Britney. Their success depends on their next producer's/writer's vision.

Kelly and Avril nah because they havent been a focal point of pop music since last decade. sure they have songs that adult pop radio has played (particularly Kelly in that case) but ultimately the most relevant album she made was 10 years ago. Avrils last truly relevant single was in 2007 with Girlfriend. Avril is done. Just for real, shes done. Shes been done.

I would've put JLo before Xtina but to be honest JLos music career is totally hit or miss. On the Floor was the first relevant single she'd made in a LONG ass time and her team always ****s up her momentum by choosing the wrong singles and making her musically go in the wrong direction. With the right direction, I think she'd have a better chance than Xtina for sure. Mariah musically has been a bore since Emancipation. But with the right album people will care because people care about her.

Britney has the best chance of anyone. shes generally beloved by our generation. We grew up with her, shes always been there, and tbh she will always be there whether making hits or not. With the right direction/album, she'll come out hard. And people always lowkey care about what shes doing.

From the rest... Kelly could do it most easily. She appeals to a lot of people and she isn't as strongly associated with early 2000s pop as the others are

Kelly would have to get back in shape and just make decent music and the GP would stan, if she came back looking great that generate immense buzz around her and people love those kinds of stories.

X is pretty much poised for a comeback as long as her material is good (IE no Lotus, no Bionic), but she's messing around with a Spanish album at the moment so

Britney has the strongest fanbase of all the women listed, if she does promo she will probably be fine.

Mariah had the biggest comeback in modern music history as far as I'm concerned, that was just a massive return to form she also is the most talented and makes the best music and will reign this holiday season as she does every year like clockwork. There is no telling the damage she could do if she actually gave a toss and would stop making dated urban mess. #B was a great step towards a fresh direction and was doing amazingly until she ruined it with a terrible cheesy Mimi-esque trying too hard to stay young video that wreaked of desperation, she needed to axe every single one of those motorcycle scenes and incorporate a young cute couple a la Always Be My Baby and head on an extensive radio tour followed by flawless performances and down to earth sit down interviews with every big name on TV instead she did the terrible video, terrible diva attitude with her terrible british accents, and fighting with Nicki which made them both look like petty fools.

Mariah needs right management, A&R and sound and she could demolish again.

Avril is washed nobody cares for that emo punk mess anymore she needs to grow up and go on, Xtina can do it but she needs the right look/sound maybe a return to the Back to Basics vibe, J. Lo is the most relevant I find and can always bounce back with minor hits, Kelly needs to lose some damn weight and just sing her ass off she will be fine and Britney is still doing alright she is just lazy and also needs to bring back the right material.
