Please stop hiding behind another artist's achievements to try and drag an artist you don't like that achieved more than your fave. It's cringeworthy

Good for Adele, thats enormous.
It still wont be as amazing as 2 million people rushing to physical stores, camping outside stores to buy Nsync though. Not diminishing Adele's future record by any means just saying the excitement that the early 00s had was so other worldy whenever BSB, Britney and Nsync would release. It was like Black Friday mayhem.
Digital sales have taken over and although clicking a buy button online doesnt show nearly the amount of dedication, its just indicative of the time I guess. Besides that, the hype for 25 is bringing back so much nostalgia to that era. The excitement and impending record breaking has never happened post 2002 and its crazy considering Adele has such a chilled persona and slaying like this.
She's definitely the queen of the 10's

Lol. How? You're paying the same amount and receiving it on the same day.

Going online to buy an album from your bed doesnt show the same amount of dedicarion as camping outside a store 9 hours before it opens. Its easy, unless someone is broke, to order a digital album. Its the same sale being made, I'm just speaking from the point of nostalgia when there was really only 1 way to get an album.
But like I said, its indicative of the times. People have dont care about music the way they used to and have gotten generally lazier so its unfair to hold todays artists to the same standards. This is the first time anyone has caused this level of excitement in the music industry in like a decade (besides the Beyonce release ofc)

But piracy is a much bigger thing because of the internet, it's more impressive that she can do this even though you can get it for free just as easily as buying it.

I really don't understand what you are trying to say tbh.
Despite the fact that physical sales are still a thing, music has been made more accessible. As you said, people can comfortably download it from their beds, there's nothing wrong with it.Yeah,it's good to remember the good old times with that bit of nostalgia that never hurts, but I don't get why you would want to diminish Adele's accomplishment.Especially if you consider that you don't have the necessity to buy music to listen to it anymore, you can get it for free with a click now,so it's actually even more impressive!

That's true...
Paying for general music nowadays is such a weird concept imo (esp on itunes), so I guess it probably is even MORE impressive for these kind of sales than before.

ExCtly.
The fact that she might break it or come close in 2015 is impressive as **** because before now, NO ONE has come close.

It has nothing to do with dedication or laziness. It's about accessibility. That was basically the only way to buy a Britney or *NSYNC album. Now you have more options to get music. Britney's fans were no more dedicated in 2000 than Adele's fans in 2015. If Britney and *NSYNC had the option of digital, they would have broken records there as well.
You're right about the times changing, but I just don't agree with the "dedication" part.

I was just gonna say this. The preorders in USA alone must be close to 600k by now.

Effortless
Imagine the other tracks were Adele's fart sound, yet ppl already bought it, and it was sold more than you fave's album sales even after everything said and done

I think her record is more impressive (if she beats it) since I don't even know anyone who even buys music anymore, it's amazing that people are willing to spend their money to buy it when they can just illegally download it for free easily online. Or just stream it without buying.
And I don't know where but I heard that NSync fans were bulk buying their album to beat the BSB record and that's why they even sold so much. that's why billboard changed the rules to not count multiple sales, don't know if it's true though.
