Chad has articles about being the best character. And if HE is too lowkey, then Denise is. He's had more episodes and screentime than her.

I don't think Gigi has the vocal fans, but what she lacks are the haters. Thus "universally liked." If we're talking which characters have the loudest fanbases, it's a totally different story. |
I suppose that's fair for Hester, but I still haven't seen a nearly as much love for Chad as I have for Denise. Or comments about Chad, period. People only really see him as eye candy and even then... Denise may have more haters than Chad, but Denise certainly has more fans than him, too. I've barely seen anyone critique Denise that much, either, other than a few people who need everything to be PC which is never gonna happen with this show, anyway. People are too much in awe about funny she is.
But I suppose the end of this is that Cathy's the most universally-liked.

Chad literally has articles written about how amazing he is. Denise doesn't AND has more haters. Chad is definitely the more popular character here.
I don't need things to be PC, but if you're going for stereotypical and offensive humor, at least make it funny. When it's not funny... it's just painful
Her or Chad. Zayday is honestly really well liked too (and I don't even care about her)

I even prefer Chad to Denise, but I know damn well more people are here for Denise than they are here for Chad.

Wait, are we talking ATRL or general internet? If we're talking ATRL, yeah. Denise wins. Internet in general? I legitimately think it's Chad and I'm not being biased. He gets articles written about how great he is, there's a lot of fans, and there's next to no haters.
I do think Denise fans are more vocal, which make it seem like there's more than there are, but she really does have her critics too. I'd rank the one with less haters but slightly less vocal fans as more popular.

I'd say both. Twitter eats up Denise. She's tweet-bait. And she's easily a scene-stealer opposed to any other character. That article you posted isn't exactly proof of overwhelming support.
Chad, Zayday & Gigi are all too lowkey. People like Chad cuz he's hot. Zayday's liked because Keke's personable but the character is barely defined. Gigi's overshadowed by other strong characters.

I edited my post. I should have clarified that I'd rank a character with less vocal fans (but still very present) but also less haters as more popular than one with more vocal fans and more haters
Chad is liked cause he's hot on ATRL, but between the articles, IMDB, and Tumblr, I mainly see Chad love for how entertaining people find him. I don't use twitter, so I can't comment on there. Gigi and Zayday, again, don't have the highkey fans of Denise, but they are well liked and don't have the haters. To me, that's a more popular character. It's not about having the loudest fanbase, it's about having the most fans.

Zayday is extremely likable whenever she talks imo. Keke isn't exactly an A-Lister, people don't like Zayday for her

Some people don't think she's funny which.. fair enough. Humor is subjective. (A lot of people do like Denise, but I can't begin to understand why. It's not that her humor is offensive, but that it's obnoxious, has no wit or intelligence (I've seen this type of character a billion times before), tries to steal the scenes from the rest rather than work with them, AND is offensive and stereotypical on top of everything else. That said, this style MUST be resonating with some people or she wouldn't have a fanbase)
The part i don't get are the people complaiming that she's trying too hard to be Chanel and we already have a Chanel. Like, it legitimately makes no sense. They are totally different characters.
A part of me is genuinely convinced some of O's fans just hate anyone whose at odds with her characters (note: some, not all)
