there is a difference between an artist creating a new sound, evolving, etc. and having an entire team of people create a record for you.

evolving is not laying your vocals on a song that sounds different from your previous effort, specially when you had little to do with the creation of it.

Whether or not the execution is done well is a subjective opinion. The only way you can really judge is by the attempt being present. Dangeroulsy in Love DOES sound different from BEYONCE, and Bey's attempted to change her image too. That's an objective fact. An d that's artistic evolution.

Bieber definitely evolved. Physically, image-wise and musically. The only thing he still sucks at is dancing.

Believe sounded nothing like My World[s], Journals sounded nothing like Believe and Purpose sounds nothing like Journals so far. His visuals have gotten better as well.

I am not even comparing her to PJ and Kate. I grew up listening to Kate and PJ. Of course she ain't a good writer as they are. You just read what you want to read obviously.

No artist makes huge cuts from their artistic vision and execution early in their career and with every record. No human being is somebody else within two years.

I srsly think that you actually can not comprehend the difference between creating the same album over and over or allowing yourself to explore different sounds or inspiration.

Rihanna didn't truly have an identity to call her own until GGGB (the reason for the image overhaul was because she needed to break free from the Beyoncé comparisons). She was bankrupt during Rated R (so she had to change her image again). Her brand has been the same since Loud: hot pop star with fun songs, cute hairstyles and nice clothes. She's been playing the 'bad girl' role for over half a decade now. She has not evolved as an artist. Changing to fit the times and following trends =/= evolution.

You're saying this as if she was on every social media platform hashtagging those taglines to make them popular. She barely promoted the album and the songs/lyrics became popular on their own.

+ I'm not sure how ST has any similarities to her previous work. It's actually amazing how even though the core of her music is R&B songs like Naughty Girl, Irreplaceable, Ego, Party & No Angel all sound vastly different and all fit with their respective era/album
