You can tell how they tried to really break the european market with Music Box, right? It has her most boring and uninspired ballads and the least amount of soul imo. Thank god Daydream came around and paved the way for her Magnum Opus.

I love every song on the album except for Hero, it sounds really corny to me and I've never been able to get into it.

I love all 3! But i find the Emotions ballads to be very saccharine and empty. Music Box is ALL ballads, although they're all very good.

I can see what you mean about Rainbow. But Heartbreaker and the remix are BOPS!

At first I hated Rainbow, but then I listened to it again and I sort of like it more now.

Petals is amazingly written, Heartbreaker is a bop and Against All Odds is great too. My trinity from the album

Daydream - Fantasy, Daydream Interlude and Looking In
Butterfly - The Roof, Fourth of July, Breakdown (the 1-2-3 punch of these songs )
TEOM - Shake It Off, Say Somethin', We Belong Together (I know, it's so cliche )

But one of my fave lyrics from TEOM HAS to be:

Sorry stevyy, my dear, but Music Box ist just the least Mariah album she has ever done and I literally hear the gun clicking that Tommy had pointed at her while she sang those songs in the studio.

But if fans enjoy the album nevertheless that's great.

I think we can all agree a good half of Music Box ain't trash at all. Dreamlover, Anytime You Need A Friend, Music Box, Now That I Know, and the verses of I've Been Thinking About You are all amazing.

I really love the remix of Never Forget You as well.

+ We have Everything Fades away and Do You Think Of Me.

It makes me sad thinking about Glitter and how thrilling it'd be with just a little better production

I love Glitter probably just for how unique it is in her catalog. I agree with Music Box, as an album it doesn't work although I do like most of the songs in isolation I guess.

And Emotions I can understand, but it has great moments from the beginning through You're So Cold and everything after Track #6 which I've never listened to. To Be Around You is probably THE most overlooked bop of her career.

Revisited Memoirs, and it's aged so badly. Literally. All the crappy interludes, the cheesy ballads...I Want to Know What Love Is.

Obsessed remains the gem, and only thing anyone remembers from the era.

I can't listen to Memoirs anymore . I like Betcha , Candy Bling, and More Than Just Friends, but other than that the album is not the business.
