I'm really interested in how this sponsorship is going to work with Samsung
I don't know if they'll go exactly the Jay-Z route seeing as how this will be way bigger than what he did. Samsung (are) sponsored(ing) a few of the past and upcoming events for her and probably her tour. I think we'll get a campaign too. I see this being more of a promo platform than a distribution deal (at least not a major one like Jays) but we'll see

Jay Z/Samsung didn't get as much backlash as U2 or Tidal.

I think the only problem was that the 1 million copies weren't counted by Billboard.

Agreed this sponorship reads a more of a promotional deal than distribution.

Which is great because now she should have more than enough money for tour production and future videos, TV commercials/ billboard ad.

I think Rihs focus should be touring. If she wants to have another sell out stadium and 150-220mil gross she's gonna have to put wayyyy more into the shows than DWT.

Filming is in France and don't Sci- Fi movies take a long time cause it more technical than a drama or comedy?

I would say yes, especially since the movie is slated for 2017.

If Anti is really coming "within the coming weeks" I hope she has a plan (lolz). She will probably have breaks throughout filming so maybe she could promote? And then in the summer the tour would start.

It also depends on how many scenes she has to do. They might work around her schedule and get her scenes done first.

Interesting to see the Samsung deal come to light. Hopefully she spends it on the tour.

that lsa thread is interesting you guys. wow it sounds like the business deals were ready, but then the album wasn't done in the spring, and now everything is coming to fruition. but let me stop before i get excited

i was freelancing at an agency who has samsung as a client.

when were working with samsung on this project and samsung was having meetings with her manager, samsung's goal was to start all this promotion in august for an august/september release, which was in line with the date the label was promising. then it got pushed to they were hoping for a late september release, then it was early october and then i left the project.

the samsung people were trying to fly to barbados during cropover to meet with her then, but that got killed. she flew from bridgetown to ny to have that meeting.
