I don't know, I think the last minute thingy has more to do with preventing any leaks than a lack of planning

Avoiding leaks or a lack of planning are hardly the cause. Some of us just tend to leave things to the last minute. It's pretty obvious she's very self-critical and tentative, making her inefficient, and thus holding off the release until the eleventh hour while taking all the time there is, and more. Now that she's ~fully~ in charge, there's no definite deadline to abide by.
