She's important to me and to you because she sings about life in a way that deeply moves and affects us and she does this in spite of "engagement" and "coverage" and "reach". Adele is an artist, not an entertainer. She's this generation's Patsy Cline and Stevie Nicks and Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin. She makes important records that spark the collective consciousness and sings songs that matter. She writes them herself, in her own time, and when they're ready she releases an album and does a handful of interviews.

I read the interview earlier today, but I couldn't access the base until now because I was stuck at school volunteering. Anyways... So excited for the new album! Is anyone else worried that the album as a whole will sound too pop? I know I will love it regardless and I'm probably overthinking it, but not only does she have a song that has a lot of disco influence apparently, but also, when the interviewer heard "I Miss You," the first thing they said was, "This is about sex, right?" And then she said it's about sex and intimacy and that sort of thing.... I hope she doesn't resort to singing about that like her pop peers. Just my personal thing. I get that she writes personal stuff like that and I don't care if she does, but I don't want "Partition"-esque lyrics, so to speak. If she has a song about sex, it better be subtle and have other themes in it as well because I don't want her to sing a song about sex just because the rest of her peers do.

Also, guessing you guys heard about the BBC special? So, now we're officially getting two specials from her? One at the BBC and one at Radio City Music Hall! So excited! She's really going all out with promo for this era. Disappointed that the BBC one is obviously in the UK, though.... I really wanted to go. (Not to mention, it's on a Monday, so even if it was in the US, I couldn't go.)

Anyways I don't think going a bit more pop will be bad at all, in fact its probably better for Adele. It will show a different sound for Adele and she can expand as an artist. Also note that they called it contemporary pop music which Adele is pretty much already, just take a look at SFFTR! Also I wouldn't worry about the "sex" song, it doesn't really matter since she says the song is about more than just that so the focus isn't just sex.

Btw I called B&N and they don't have the magazine yet I took a look on ebay and if I bought it from there it would be like 25-30 bucks

Yeah, you make a good point. They did say "contemporary pop," and I kind of view her as the Céline Dion of our generation, except she obviously writes her own lyrics and is known for that as well. I want her to stick to her soulful sound, and I guess that's my top concern. I love her soulful sound and I love that she uses real instruments and doesn't rely heavily on the pop synths and all that stuff. But if she's going to do contemporary pop, I would imagine she will stay relatively close to her previous sound, so I'm fine with that. And you're right. I think I'm just overreacting because her music has never really been about sex or anything like that before, so I really don't know what to expect.

And yeah, I checked CVS and they don't have it either. Has anyone been able to find the magazine in any actual stores yet? I'm not paying $25-30 to get it from eBay.

Hello is a little more on the pop side than her previous work though and I'm honestly LOVING it,so I guess I'm not worried anymore.She definitely proved us we are in good hands!
