first off, let me correct myself, it was "worse" not "worst".

second, BADLANDS sold 97k in pure sales, over 20k more than Demi. I guess good music still somewhat wins I still like a great part of Confident, it's just not her best effort in my eyes.

For all of you who say "Streaming is king", it really isn't. There have been countless surveys done on the general public on whether they're likely to subscribe to a streaming service, and over 75-80% have said no. It's really only popular with tweens and teens.

I think it's fair for streaming to be included in singles certifications, because it makes sense due to the fact that you're streaming a song.

But you can't stream an album, you can only individually play the songs within it, and I think it's completely unfair that artists are getting robbed of the #1 spot just because of some made up formula to make streams "equivalent" to sales. That's just the industry's way of trying to inflate numbers to make it look like the artists that are out there right now aren't flopping with the general public.

Sales will ALWAYS be more important than streams.

its honestly ****ing sad when you can actually SELL more than your competitor
but still lose out because people streamed their album more which is FREE
while the people who actually bought the album kinda doesn't matter
