It's the way it was mastered, you can tell it was done on purpose, it wasn't badly mastered or anything. And Greg Kurstin songs are usually overly loud. I'm sure the volume makes more sense while listening to the album.

nah, the mastering is awesome. i love it.
greg did well with the production. i don't find him to be an amazing producer, so i wish he didn't have the most credits on the album. still, i know that these 11 songs must be really awesome.
