What is immunity protecting you from? If you're Top 30 on the weekly chart but SOMEHOW NOT Top 30 on the overall chart? That would be a long shot.

Not necessarily. You have an #5 8.3 R1 score, and then get a #30 6.94 in R2. 7.62 average. But unfortunately 30 other people had a really good week and 30 people now have an average at or above 7.63. You'd be eliminated because the top 15 got similar scores as before and another 15 people were able to lift themselves up with several 8 scores. Immunity would save you in that case.

tldr because the elimination is decided by average score and not rank, it's possible to make top30 twice and still be eliminated because your score relative to 30 other people dropped. It's a safety net for if other people do really well, not if you flop

But if we take d^2y/dx^2 of y=log(6e^7x)^1/2 with the square root of 3.5/k^2 where k is all real numbers excluding all multiples of pi, that outcome's like not going to happen like ever.

Who was it talking about Florence and HBHBHB the other day? Ceremonials and someone else? Well I never really got into the album outside of release week, but I bought a physical deluxe edition and I am bopping for the GAWDS right now She was definitely a lot of inspiration for my song this week.

Basically this. It seems unlikely due to the rank requirements being the same (Top 30 in round 2 rank, Top 30 in overall leaderboard) but rank isn't a factor in scoring, people tend to forget that. #1 could have a score of 9, #29 could have a score of 8.5 and #30 could have a score of 6, theoretically. If everyone exceeds expectations one round, or fails to live up to them (which has happened before), people with decent scores can be eliminated and people with average scores can win the round.

That aside, the main point of the immunity twist is to make sure you still bring your A game this round. I don't want to see any "safe" contestants literally abuse their immunity, submit some half-arsed last minute entry because they're not worried about being eliminated and scrape through over other contestants which actually had higher scores than them. This has also happened.

I think I'm going to color code all of the sections of my song and just write "repeat" in whatever color marks the repeated line(s). I'll submit a version that reads straight through, without the repetition marked, too.

Just one last note on the immunity thing. There wasn't going to be an immunity for the first round due to everyone being safe / average scores. I decided pretty much at the last minute that you Top 5 deserved at least something for doing well in the first challenge. Just submit something of similar quality to your R1 submission and you shouldn't have to worry about eliminations this week.

This is a one-week only occurrence. Guaranteed immunity will be back next week, but not in the way you're used to seeing it...

The best advice I can give is to do what you've said, submit a version without notes/annotations and a version with notes/annotations (in the same PM) so everything is clear. If you can annotate it, it won't count.
