Well, I have not heard of this at all, but it's useless to take into account for this show because it crushes everything else on its network so obviously its renewal chances are 100%.

For the Americans specifically, I'm sure its status as critically worshipped helps it.
Like how ratings flop American Crime is coming back.

FX takes the DVR numbers and the streaming into consideration and they obviosly care about those combined numbers the most, because you know they are a Cable Network. Do you know about the L3 numbers?

And nobody's bragging about anything. I don't really know what "someone's fave" radio numbers have to do with it, and besides people don't check mediabase, only stans and hardcore fans care about those numbers!

No it's not actually. The number of viewers doesn't matter one bit. The only number that matters is the demo which is 2.2. That in itself is quite good, equalling the season 2 rating.

All that the number of viewers matter for is .. idk bragging rights or misinformed people who know nothing about ratings thinking it matters.

I mean think of it this way, currently the tv show with most viewers is NCIS which gets 15+ millions viewers regularly but the demo so low in comparison that no one pays any attention to it critically or culturally.

Mostly meaningless.

C3 numbers (commercials consumed within 3 days) are the most significant, and ratings sites have shown that they actually correlate more strongly with Live than L+3.

Exactly. For that AHS is netting a 2.2 which is very solid especially for a show on it's 5th season. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but atm it's still Fx's strongest show right?

I know those numbers are the most important, but don't know that's what I read in a forum, the streaming numbers were important and the impressions. I know the demo numbers dictate if the show will keep going or not.

You only get paid by your advertisers by the commercials your viewers watch. Most people who DVR shows don't bother to watch the commercials cuz...they don't have to and people aren't fans of commercials generally.

PR people can spin it how they like.

Anyway, AHS will still more than double the network's 2nd strongest show, so eh.

True, scalp me tbh. The Americans has always been on the lower end of the ratings spectrum, but always gets renewed.

I know HBO and Showtime uses same day total viewers, also acclaim. E! has been using same day to justify renewing most of its reality shows, sans Kardashians. I know MTV used same day and streaming when they renewed Scream.
