She sold albums, had a grammy, had an acclaimed album, was global and had worldwide tours.
The only thing she didn't have was controversy.
What has Christina even accomplished thats worthwhile (post/pre-incident)
) and yes she had hits but she was sorta like Ke$ha before the incident (big hits and decent album sales but no starpower) but that's not to say she wouldn't have prospered had it not happened seeing as how her name and celebrity was already growing around this, the incident gave her the ultimate push that made people care about her as a person and musician.
