I watched it again and I'm glad I did, I caught onto more things and it seemed more coherent then I thought at first.
I do agree that Gaga going on and off with her accent is annoying. It's like they filmed one day with her speaking normally and another day filming she thought she'd do an accent and it turned out like a mish mash.
She was great in some parts like talking to the kid down the hall way but that jaw line thing...the line is gonna be iconic but the delivery...
Frankly what this episode did was laying out the main characters pretty nicely. And I guess after today they'll dig deeper into the individual stories adding the guest stars to do their thing when needed.
My daughter wanted to see the show but I told her that it was out of the question

my brother is in 6th grade and once he finds out hotel has premiered he is going to want to watch it, how am i supposed to explain to him that these images will severely hurt his perception of the world around him

It's weird that critics and the people in the industry are actually praising GaGa ha presence and acting while the haters and even some of her fans are kinda trashing it

Do some of you just want things spelt out to you? Use your brain to figure out character motives and such. And not everything will be set up and/or answered in episode 1, obviously.

Leaving plot threads open for next episodes and keeping secrets unrevealed has nothing to do with the what was wrong with the episode. People are feeling confused not because they are dumb or stupid, but because the writing was very, very bad. And the editing made it worse, with scenes randomly popping in and no connection made to the plot other than "well, stuff is happening in this hotel". And if I have to use my brain to imagine non existent characters in a tv show then I think someone has been doing it pretty bad when writing the script and directing the episode.
