I loved it, omg. It's messy and I'm hoping and expecting more coherency as the show goes on, but I was glued to my seat the entire time.

I also think that maybe Sally is a ghost, or maybe a vampire as well? Or maybe the addiction demon is her and there are two sides of her (like Gaga saying everyone has two sides to them or whatever).

The Countess was literally written FOR Gaga and Gaga even had a huge say in the character. Jessica Lange, a woman of an older age, playing a sex-crazed vampire who hasn't aged in 100+ years doesn't make any sense.

GaGa's actually really good, especially considering this is her first real role. They played it smart by making her feel like a ghost within this hotel, it's haunting

Exactly. The Countess we saw wouldn't even resemble the one that would be played by Jessica

I love the youthful vibrancy Gaga brings to the show as The Countess.

That was a great opener. I couldn't handle much at first (because I'm a bit squeamish with graphic violence), but it improved as it went on. Definitely an improvement over Freak Show. I think Wes is going to be a good protagonist. I love how they ramped up the suspense in his scenes, especially the one with his daughter in the house.

I also think Gaga's delivery was a bit stiff with Will Drake, but she seemed good in her other scenes and in the preview. She has presence and charisma down, but should work on line readings IMO.

I have to say the orgy scene is a series highlight. What kind of flawless introduction.

I mean everyone abandoned freakshow the moment they realized it's a jessica lange show. Her time is up. She's better at supporting roles.

The only way it could hace worked is if she took kathy's role as the countess' assistant

You can tell how much Gaga loves NYC, the scene when Elizabeth says she misses it was ha peak acting wise.
Oh and the sex scene. Yes.
