Well no, it's supposed to stay in the back and then the morning of the release (or midnight depending on if the store is 24 hrs or not) the associates stock it onto shelves. But Target is messy with accidentally putting them up early. Luckily the system won't allow the purchase.
It's technically out on Thursday since iTunes updates an hour before midnight.

I didn't mean it literally. Yes, it does have to be in storage rooms or warehouses near the store.
