America is a continent. That's what I got from my Geography lessons, at least. There was an overload of Canadian and Central America artists #1s so I thought it was best to exclude them and make it extra-American rather than extra-US.

The Hot 100 is a US chart, not one for the entire North American continent.

NORTH America is a continent, as well as SOUTH America - Central America is not a part of either. So the Bajan beauty would count!

And you should really specify, as I was wondering why there were no Canadians. You do know that Canada and the USA are two very distinct places located on the same continent (Which only has three countries - the aforementioned two and Mexico), right?

Canada has it's own (very messy) chart. Certain songs that are hits here are total flops elsewhere (I'm thinking Your Body or You Da One for example).

I'd say include them!

That makes sense. But it doesn't make sense to include Omi and not Rihanna.

Regarding Omi, I don't know why I let him in. He shouldn't be included as well, by that criteria.
