Ringtones cost more than singles
And on Spotify you can listen to whatever you want for FREE.

The problem with ATRL is that when it comes to Beyonce they LOVE to pick and choose what to accept and what not to accept. Ringtones were HUGE back then and are still relevant. Believe or not some people still by ringtones so instead wondering if people do, get up and go outside. Leave ATRL for a while and interact with some people.

Of course they count. The problem is the lack of data. RIAA alone is not enough. Take for example Paper Planes. This was its run on the Ringtones chart: 11-2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-6-8-13-15-18-19
But it's not certified. Charting around the same time, this is Single Ladies: 19-11-7-8-9-12-12-10-10-15-17-18-20-20
And it's platinum. So there's no way to compare when there are such obvious gaps in the data. But if you're counting someone's total record sales, of course you can add them if you can find them.

WTF does it matter if another base doesn't count ringtones when they are valid record sales? What does that have to do with VALID PURCHASES of Bey records being counted in Bey's record total? Just bringing up completely irrelevant nonsense as there is no sound argument as to why ringtones aren't record sales like everything else when they cost just as much and back then, cost much more than digital tracks.

If yall can brag about Rihanna total record sales despite only less than 20% are from album sales, do not talk about how we use ringtone sales. And you know that Streamings are counted for SEA and bring your fave another million sellings, right?

Yeah. They're not really popular anymore so who cares? I find the korean sales far less worthy but most fanbases still use them.
Idk why people are bringing up Katy when with or without ringtones (and with or without streaming) she slays everyone with her singles.

The fact that receipts thread contains Korean tracks which were free to download is more of a concern

It's not "ringtone" only. And yes, they are official, of course. BB never combines anything.
By the way, there are countries that once incorporated them into their single charts, so if you feel like those U.S. sales should be excluded, then you're going to have to exclude single sales from some countries, too.

Look at yourself before you judge others.
Anyway, you should focus on your own fan base, which is naive enough to believe all those fake and made up sales figures posted a few weeks ago.

I don't run that thread, I don't know where the OP gets his info. Ask him, but cheers for the confirmation your South Korean sales are fishy. And if you'd like to prove those figures were lies then by all means go for it!

I asked the IFPI if those Korean sales were official in 2012 and they said, "yes!" Had they said "no," I would not take them into account. If those Korean sales are official, recognized and used, that clearly means they bring in revenue to the music industry because money is all the industry cares about.
The price doesn't matter at all either as long as they all cost (around) the same. And if people have a problem with the price, then they're going to have to stop taking single sales that come from streaming into account since many of those streams literally cost NOTHING.
