I would totally welcome that. And I think that would be a clever move. Let Lily be the star in the Crime series and give us a glimpse of it in AHS.

It's one thing to not have a certain actor/actress in one season, but the return of Mary Eunice was much anticipated and brought into the story of Freak Show as the episode was all about Pepper. It would've made no sense to let Lily play another role (that may possibly belong to the main cast) when Mary Eunice was a key figure in 'Orphans'.

If Lily wanted to be on Freak Show for more than 20 minutes, Ryan would've given her a role.
There could've been any sister play the role of her in the Orphans episode, if neccessary.
They could've easily rewritten it. They came up with that episode later, anyway.

Also not everything is about AHS. When Lily, Franes or Jessica are able to decline a role (in AHS) and rather want to try something else, they can do that and that's not Gagas or Emma Roberts fault. In the end of the day being an actress is a job and as much as fans want to see their faves in their fav show, the actors may think otherwise.

Chloë is like the only person in the cast who has never tweeted/Instagrammed anything AHS related, though (yesterday was the first time, I believe). She literally doesn't have pictures with anyone. She's just like that.
