I started Buffy around the start of June and I finished it two weeks ago. It is amazingggg. I love all of the characters, the different storylines, the humour - everything is so on point. Spike is my favourite, along with Anya and Willow. I cried so hard when Tara died, and the fact that she was only in the opening credits in that episode pisses me off to no end.

I'm halfway through Angel now. I wasn't bothered to watch them both at once so I decided to do them one at a time. I'm really glad too because I'm seeing old characters from Buffy who died/left before it actually happens and it's nice to see some of them again. I'm liking Angel so far. I never liked Angel as a character when he was on Buffy, he was too cliché for my tastes. But I think he really comes into his own.....on his own show. Cordy and Lorne are my favourites. I like Fred too but I'm only seven or so episodes into season three so I don't have a great sense of her potential as of yet. Can't wait to watch the rest of it!

Angel is a boring character and David Boreanaz is a bad actor (unlike Buffy and Sarah Michelle Gellar), but I thought the show was better overall than Buffy the Vampire Slayer because it was more consistent. Other than season 3 and most of 2, I thought it was all over the place.

Dawn is underrated, but she was heavily underused so it makes sense. There is so much they could have done with her, and I dislike that she didn't have develop any abilities!

Yesterday they aired "The Gift" and I randomly tuned in. I cried at the end as always.

I think Riley is an underrated character. I wish they did a better job writing him in season 5. I guess they were forced to make him useless and annoying because everything was so Spike-centric.

I like Riley and that's it. That was my problem with him. He was just too bland to love or hate. I do like that he was the opposite of Angel and the audience knew he was just filler not Angel guy.

One thing is for sure, I like Riley with Buffy more than I like Spuffy Completely unneeded after season 6.

One thing is for sure, I like Riley with Buffy more than I like Spuffy Completely unneeded after season 6.

I liked Riley because he was normal. It was unrealistic to keep pairing Buffy with supernatural beings. Men in romantic relationships with women in more powerful positions often struggle because of their ego issues and you see this with Riley initially, but he swallows his pride because he loves Buffy. I also like how you see Buffy take him for granted and then regret letting him go when he leaves in both season 5 and 6. I preferred their pairing over the one with Angel, which I thought was so idealistic and kinda creepy considering their age difference.

I think they ruined the Riley in season 5 in favor of the future storyline with Spike and the fact that Marc Blucas wanted to work on other projects. I really think Spike made the show go downhill because they had to keep accommodating him. I didn't like Spuffy either, but I guess he was required to show a toxic relationship for Buffy's story. He ruined Angel for me too.

Speaking of season 4, I think it's really underrated by fans. The show started going downhill by the end of season 4 and into season 5. I guess it's because there was less and less Joss involved. Angel seasons 1 and 2 were so strong.

I'm still to this day mad that she didnt have a main role in the other season.
In season 4 she was featured in JUST 2 episodes.
Season 5 none.
Season 6 also none.
Season 7 five episodes only
So in total she only appeared on 20 episodes
I swear to god she's my fav char

how can you say season 5 was the best????
Where did season 3 go?????
Where did the last 3 episodes of season 6 go?
i mean the whole buffy vs willow fight
NOBODY expected that to happened since they're bffs.
Also in season 3 the the graduation part 1 episode was *by that i mean the whole buffy vs faith fight in faith's room * iconic >>>>
I'm going to re-watch season 6 and 7 in 2 weeks maybe cuz i just finished season 6

This is a good way to look at it. Riley was realistic, but I think that is what made him not for Buffy. He was the practical choice, but not the passionate adventure. For that reason I like Riley, but could not find him interesting.

Anya and Xander were defintiely my favorite couple and I wanted to kill Xander for what he did

Faith >>>>> Ugh, she was so intriguing. The episose where she and Buffy switch places was so well done. I truly felt Faith's pain and disgust with herself. She deserved a spin off

Season 3 is fantastic start to finish. There are no bad episodes. That being said, I do prefer season 5 a bit.

Dawn was pretty worthless. Was Michelle related to a network exec or something? I could never figure out why she was on the show.

Ugh, Amber Benson was so underused. I was so upset when her arc ended, even more so because it led to that horrible "Dark Willow" plot. Alyson Hannigan was always the worst actor on the show and could not have been more unconvincing in that role.

Have you guys watched Dollhouse? It stars Eliza Dushku (Faith) and was produced by Joss Whedon. It only lasted two seasons but it was quite excellent.

Sarah knew Michelle from All My Children, so she recommended her to Joss for the role.

Dollhouse is one of my favorite shows, I've re-watched it so many times. I wish it went on longer than two seasons.
