Oh okay. You can get it on the online store as well but that might not be available in your country either then.

I would definitely say it's worth the investment. During my freshman and sophomore year, I had two great HP laptops, but they just didn''t last that long without malfunctioning. Granted, I was a fan of getting music free, so that surely didn't help. My first major purchase with my own money was a macbook air. BEST DECISION I'd made at the time.
I still have the same Macbook 'till this day (5 years old) and it's fully operable. After I had graduated two years following its purchase, I treated myself to a newer model, Macbook Pro with Retina. Again, another great decision made. They're durable, work extremely fast, and is a quality product all around. My cousin still has the same Macbook for 7 years now and she riding it till the end. It's expensive, but if you factor in what you would pay for another laptop, the impending damages that'll follow a year or two later at times, it's well worth the investment. I literally refuse to use a non-mac computer (laptop or desktop) unless I'm forced to at work.

And I'm sorry, did I read that correctly? Did you really say 1700 Euros for a 13" MacBook Pro w/ Retina display? Goodness, y'all are being ripped off. In the US, it's only $1299 US Dollars (which according to XE.com = 1,156.93 EUR). And that's not even factoring in eligible student discounts. Again, using XE.COM, 1700 Euros is like 1900 US Dollars. That could buy you a 15" retina display for that amount

Bestbuy and others stores always have sales on MacBooks too. I always see them at 1,000 dollars or less.

I have the 15inch MacBook Pro Retina, and it's absolutely worth it, esp for the kind of design work i do + i got it specced out (i7, 16GB RAM, two graphics cards etc). The other laptops wheeze and freeze when you throw CAD software at them, never had such a problem with mine.
I don't think the 13inch versions are anything to write home about though. Pretty mediocre.
Edit: I will say that once you've used a Mac, to go back to a Windows PC is pretty much impossible. The user experience and fluidity>

Why is the Macbook 2015 so much more expensive than the Air when looking at the specs it looks like the Air is still better?
I'm wondering if the new processor is worth the extra money because I'm still leaning towards the Air atm

No. I traded my macbooks and mac pro desktop in for windows pc. Lord, I am never looking back. Those are so over priced. Really, all you're paying for is the OS.

That's not true in my case. Do you understand the type of laptop/pc you could put together for 2k? Especially when you have the option to upgrade your system parts instead of the whole thing. That's virtually impossible with Mac's. What you have is what you are stuck with until you buy a new computer. Its just not worth it to me.

Yes it is
However if you are mainly into gaming then PC is good for you, if you aren't then Mac is for you

Definitely. My early-2011 Macbook Pro still runs like new. It's a lot of money for sure, but the cost goes far. Apple know what they're doing with their computers.

Well, see i over-specced my Pro to make it future-proof so i won't need a replacement for the next 3 to 4 years
PLUS the simulation softwares we use in college for architectural stuff were built with Macs in mind (specifically iMacs and the high-end Pros)
I know people who have HPs and Lenovos with insane specs and they're still unreliable af and crash all the time. There are things that a Mac can do that a PC just can't, and vice versa.

I'm wondering the same thing. I've been wanting to get one but it's expensive so I was wondering if it was worth it as well

Nope my family members own some of these devices and they wind up having to replace them yearly. I don't have $1500 to spend each year on a new computer if I can avoid it. Secondly, Macs aren't actually limited to what you can buy in the app store. The app store for macs hasn't even been around very long. Additionally, there are things I can do with my Mac out of the box that I am simply unable to do with a Windows PC out of the box without significant tooling and software tacked on to a Windows PC.
