If you're ethnically European we either don't give a **** about you or actually like you depending on your nationality. People from Tunis and Turkey had unpleasants situations because they were looking Arabic and they were probably Muslims, right?
They were saying that you should speak Polish while you're in Poland because it's low-key true. Usually, foreigners don't give a **** to learn a simple "Good Morning" in Polish, while when a Pole goes to Germany or the UK they are expected to make a basic conversation in such languages and know basic words.
However, I'm a native Pole and I would never take a night tram. They are filled with the worst scum of the city, drunk and uneducated, looking around for a fight. You usually won't see them in a daylight because they sleep off their hangovers

yeah but your rhetorical question in 1st paragraph says that it's ok to judge just if you look different or muslim
As i said , wroclaw is known as an erasmus city . also many tourists come to that city for a day or 2 so ppl should be prepared for hearing different languges and it's in theirs interest because money will be spent in poland. So why should tourists learn basic polish? speaking of erasmus they have a basic knowledge of polish but still u will not talk in polish with ppl who are not polish
but that's just my experience and Krakow was a different story but krakow is one of europeans finest tourist cities.
back to the topic: yeah the media is manipulating the whole story . I know that the world is globalizing but when u see how they look , what they wear , what phons they have , tickets they have paid ect u start to wonder . any majority of migrants are man and we only hear about children and women
