I remember back in 2003, I read in an interview that when she was promoting ITZ at nightclubs there was a song she was worried people may not like. I always figured it was BOM since it was different than anything she had done before but idk. She performed BOM, Toxic & MATM at the clubs right?

Yep those were the three she performed. I'd say it's safe to assume it was BOM she was talking about. I'm still bitter it wasn't a single. The thought of how iconic the video would be is too much

It could have been a timeless classic but it didn't perform well in the states. It was the ideal transition song that could be covered by many teen pop stars had it worked out better

IT probably was BOM but should have been MATM. that overrated song.

I'm sure I read that somewhere too! Although it might just be us being deluded stans . She's a really good songwriter, she definitely needs to show the GP this (Autumn Goodbye - forever underrated ) Regardless of if she doesn't write the songs or not, I'm glad she doesn't demand credits on her tracks. She's fairly open about the fact that a lot of her songs have been cowritten, which is sweet.

That's so messy if she really doesn't take credits for her work because that could give her some artistic credibility. Britney might not be the best songwriter ever but she has some really clever and perfectly crafted pop songs and having her name actually attached to the creation of them would be really impressive.

Then again I doubt she cares and i suppose it's better than adding like 1 word and taking a % of someone less fortunate's coins
