Maybe I'm underestimating people, but how many people see the whole album, think "I'll buy just these songs" and in a short timespan later are like "no, I'll buy the whole alberm!"
Plus, again, the songs aren't that high on iTunes esp compared to the near-500k people who are estimated to buy the album this week, so I hardly think there's that phenom you're claiming with this.

Well, remember that album out on Sunday and tracking-week started on Friday.
I like him and all, but Ed has now tied Maroon Five for most weeks in the BB200 T10 without being in the sales T10, at 17.
Of course, Maroon was more egregious with weeks charting in the 20s, 30s, and even 40s in sales while in the BB200 T10, while the lowest Ed's been in sales during his t10 run is #18.
Damn BB formula is a mess :3
Streaming has too much of an influence on the chart, it's not cute
Taylor not being on Spotify is hurting her chart performance, queen need to reconsider

Billboard can't really control the fact that sales are plummeting and streaming is making massive gains If they wanted to limit streaming's influence on the chart/increase sales' influence, they'd pretty much have to alter the Hot 100 formula about once a month.
