I think what I love most about God Knows I Tried is that it actually sounds like she's singing about God as a person/character. Saying "God knows [something]" doesn't mean the speaker believes in God; it's just a figure of speech. But the way Lana sings it, I get an actual sense of religious belief. As someone who doesn't believe in God, it's especially interesting to me to hear her sing like she does.
The Blackest Day actually seems a lot shorter than Brooklyn Baby or Cruel World although they have similar lengths. Blackest Day actually sounds like its 3-4 min long It proves how good the song is
Salvatore is so overrated. I kinda think its chorus is kinda boring and cliche, like I've heard it before. The bridge also sounds familiar.
