I think we should get a dedicated thread just for racism discussion (there was one I remember with "controversial" discussions, but the overall topic of that thread changed every once in a while, and there's the Black Discussion...but blacks aren't the only ones who face racism). Although it IS an important topic to discuss, I do NOT think it needs the same thread with a different name 5 times a day every day.
If something important comes up (political scandal, police brutality in the news, etc.), the thread title can be changed to let people know that it's the hot button topic.
If that's "too controversial" to be a thread, then we should just outright ban threads discussing racism to be made, as it brings out the worst in people on this site. It can't erase that it exists, but it can prevent people from being so annoying on a pop music forum.

On the subject of banning thread topics, can we make "purge" threads and "straight pill" threads warnable, too? They get made all the ****ing time
For most other topics, they'd get closed for AP.
