Hozier and Gotye's sales are a bit disappointing if you consider the GP likes males with the alternative label. Mumford & Sons have 2 6M+ albums and only one minor hit that peaked at 12 in the US and the UK. Imagine Dragons sold the same with Night Visions, though they had more hits.
I guess it's easier to appeal to consumers if it's a band rather than a solo artist.
